Background / History

The Sword Pavilion Marquis's Mansion is one of the Yulan Empire's Fourteen Great Hereditary Marquisates and one of the Eighteen Founding Heroes' lineages. Its title has been passed down for nearly a thousand years, giving it a foundation comparable to major sects and martial academies. 17 242

Its ancestors earned permanent fiefdoms through repeated military achievements. Within those fiefdoms, the mansion's authority is described as independent even of imperial power. 240

Sixty years before the Demonic Sect war, the mansion was several times stronger than in its later era, with numerous generals, retainers, and Martial Venerables. Its then-marquis was regarded as the Imperial Court's foremost expert. 357
