How to Awaken Wood Release

Naruto's taijutsu was already so strong that his proficiency with the Three Basic Jutsu came as quite a surprise.

He observed Naruto calmly, but what Hatake Kakashi did not know was that Naruto had already noticed.

For the next few days, the missions were all simple tasks like catching cats and dogs or weeding vegetable gardens. However, because Hatake Kakashi was rather lazy, they generally performed missions in the morning and trained separately in the afternoon. Sasuke was trained by him individually, while Naruto and Hinata trained on their own.

It wasn't until this day that a simple mission actually required them to leave the village.

Was this in the original story? Once outside the village, Naruto was still a bit puzzled. It didn't seem to be in the original story, or at least, it hadn't been shown.

Having left the village, all three were quite excited; after all, it was their first time leaving the village for a mission, even if they were still very close to it.

This mission was to help a farmer hunt down wild boars.

The three of them were quite curious about the situation outside the village, looking left and right. The environment of Konoha was excellent, and outside the village, there were towering trees everywhere.

"Legend has it that the forests here were created by the First Hokage using Wood Release. I wonder if that's true or false?" Naruto turned to look at Hatake Kakashi.

"It's true." Hatake Kakashi looked up and glanced at them.

The two of them were shocked for a moment.

Naruto lowered his head in thought. Wood Release, huh? Logically speaking, he should be able to awaken it as well.

It could be said that Wood Release was the exclusive skill of Asura. If it came down to pure taijutsu, Asura could not defeat Indra, but once he possessed Wood Release, the situation was reversed.

Naruto began to ponder how he could awaken Wood Release. If he truly couldn't awaken it on his own, he could always devour Hashirama cells to awaken it.

But in that scenario, it always made Naruto feel very uncomfortable.

"Naruto, what are you thinking about?" Suddenly, Hatake Kakashi asked out of the blue.

"I'm thinking about how to awaken Wood Release," Naruto answered subconsciously.

Hearing Naruto's answer, the corners of the three people's mouths twitched.

"So, dead-last, have you even been listening in class?" Sasuke was speechless.

Having learned Chidori, Sasuke was much more confident now, and his words had increased significantly.

"Bastard, what are you trying to say?" Although Naruto realized what he had said, he didn't feel there was anything wrong with it. Hearing the words of Second Pillar, he felt they were incredibly grating.

"The school taught us about Wood Release; it's a Kekkei Genkai exclusive to the First Hokage," Sasuke explained. Anyone with a bit of knowledge knew this.

Hinata nodded. She also didn't think Naruto could awaken it. Wood Release was, although it was a Water-Earth Fusion (I looked this up, but I feel it also requires Yang Release).

But knowing it was one thing; actually achieving it was nearly impossible. Everyone in the Ninja World knew which two elements fused to create various Kekkei Genkai, but no one could replicate them.

"If the First Hokage could do it, then I certainly can too," Naruto snorted, looking at them with disdain.

Naruto's confidence left the three of them stunned. They didn't understand why he was so confident, considering that it was the only Wood Release in the entire Ninja World.

Naruto knew that while it might be impossible for others, it was truly possible for him, because he was the reincarnation of Asura for this generation.

His body was a treasure trove; now, all he had to do was figure out how to unlock it.

"Naruto-kun, I believe in you." Hinata cheered for Naruto.

"Little Hinata is still the cutest." Naruto couldn't help but pat Hinata on the head.

Hinata blushed but didn't pull away.

Sasuke gave him a look of disdain and didn't say anything more.

Hatake Kakashi, however, was wondering if it was truly possible for Naruto to awaken Wood Release.

They reached their destination after a short distance. The village head and others were already waiting outside. Seeing Hatake Kakashi arrive, they were very happy and stepped forward to welcome him.

Both sides exchanged pleasantries. Since they belonged to Konoha, they naturally knew the great name of Hatake Kakashi.

Seeing Hatake Kakashi arrive, the villagers were overjoyed; they were saved.

The animals in the Ninja World were quite large, perhaps due to the presence of chakra; many animals were bigger than humans.

Seeing the wild boar tracks on the ground, Naruto and the others immediately understood that the mission was not as simple as they had imagined.

"This guy seems a bit big." Naruto squatted beside a footprint, stroking his chin, and couldn't help but compare it to his own foot.

"As long as it dares to show up, I can finish it off in one strike."

Second Pillar looked on with disdain.

Having learned Chidori, he felt he was getting cocky again.

Naruto and the others searched for the wild boars here, while Hatake Kakashi drank tea in the village.

"Lord Kakashi, is it really okay to let those three children go?" The village head looked outside with some concern.

"Rest assured, they are not ordinary Genin. You don't need to worry." Thinking of Naruto's strength, Hatake Kakashi was not worried at all.

Although the village head was still very anxious, seeing Hatake Kakashi's relaxed demeanor, he didn't know what else to say and sat quietly, accompanying Hatake Kakashi for tea.

"They're here. Why don't you go and practice?" Suddenly, Naruto stood up and looked in one direction.

"Fine, don't you make a move; let me handle it." Sasuke was very proud. He knew that with Naruto's strength, if he made a move, Sasuke would have no chance to show off. Having finally learned Chidori, he definitely wanted to show it off in front of Naruto.

While Naruto was speaking, two wild boars followed by a group of piglets were walking slowly toward them.

The two leading wild boars were two meters tall with massive bodies. Whether it was the stiff bristles on their skin or their curved tusks, everything told them these two wild boars were not to be trifled with.

"Why didn't you say there were two of them?" Seeing those two powerful wild boars, Second Pillar felt a chill run down his spine.

If they were even slightly grazed by a charge, half their lives would be gone in an instant.

"That's exactly why I told you two to go and practice, isn't it?" Naruto scratched his head.

Hinata also felt a bit timid.

"Don't worry, Hinata, I'll be right behind you to keep an eye on things." For Naruto, Hinata's kindness was something he cherished, so he didn't want her to kill living beings, though he had no psychological barriers when it came to hunting wild boars.

Hinata nodded and assumed her stance.

Naruto stepped back a few paces, standing behind Hinata; for the current Hinata, such large wild boars were highly threatening.

Naruto was more afraid of her getting hurt, so he had already mobilized his chakra, ready to strike at any moment.

Sasuke glanced at him and was rendered speechless; this was what you called 'ready to strike at any moment'? He couldn't help but feel disgusted.

The wild boars saw the people in front of them paying them no mind and continued to stroll slowly toward them, with the crop fields right behind them.

The two of them had already begun their preparations.

Hinata condensed Chakra Needles in her hands; she wanted to test if her pressure point strikes would work. Having never used them on creatures other than humans, she lacked any confidence at all.

Sasuke formed hand seals, and white lightning erupted from his right hand, chirping noisily.

The wild boars were finally drawn by the commotion.

They began to paw at the ground with their front legs, as if provoked by the two of them.

The immense pressure made both of them frown.
