Arc 21The God of Humanity

Iori uncovered the Hero Race’s connection to Gaia, gathered allies and knowledge across the war-torn world, and helped Riku unite humanity. After defeating Arteshu, Iori claimed the Star Grail and began transforming the world.

  • Iori revealed Leiketi’s seven loops and his contract with Gaia, then fought Otenmia and Belkuros on Planet Oron while Leiketi was bound to oppose him.
  • Iori defeated and sealed Otenmia, helped secure humanity’s victory on Oron, and learned from Aegis that the Nodos were meant to find the Golden Race’s legacy.
  • Iori completed more contracts with Gaia, battled Jibril and Azril, and studied the Dragon King’s dimensional overlap before developing his own version of the power.
  • Iori met Riku and Shuvi, promised to help humanity return to its homeland, and supported Riku as he rallied survivors to build a nation and end the Great War.
  • Iori and Riku’s apostles persuaded several races to withdraw from the continent’s center as Arteshu prepared to fight humanity’s new god.

Arc 22The Final Trial

Iori rebuilt Hell, helped Yosuke and Farrell find their way to each other, and confronted the Beast of Termination to free Ritsuka. After the Final Trial, Ritsuka woke to an ordinary morning with Mash nearby.

  • Iori reconstructed Hell into eight layers, returned to his duties in Soul Society, and later visited the World of the Living, where Saito learned about his identity and other worlds.
  • Iori helped Yosuke and Farrell confront their feelings, and after Farrell sent Yosuke home with his memories restored, she followed him through a reverse summoning formation.
  • Iori rescued Ritsuka and Merlin Lily from Chaldea’s prison, defeated Goetia, and entered the Sea of Stars to reach the real Ritsuka.
  • Space Ishtar explained that she, BB, and XX wanted Ritsuka to manage their Galaxy Idol Project, while Iori entered Ritsuka’s mental world and learned why she planned to become the Beast of Termination.
  • Iori challenged Ritsuka’s plan to preserve humanity through an eternal cycle, offered to search for greater possibilities with her, and contracted with her as her Master.
  • The Beast of Termination confronted Iori in the Sea of Stars, and they fought as Ritsuka wielded time reversal, the holy sword, Heroic Spirits, and the power of Singularities and Lostbelts.
  • Iori used Lord Camelot and the Star Grail to summon Chaldea’s bonds, exposed Ritsuka within the Beast, and pierced it to free her as Mash’s shield calmed the Chaos Tide.

Arc 23Yuki’s Rebellion

Iori’s efforts to connect worlds and build a new life were overtaken by Yuki’s plan to surpass the Three Worlds, which plunged Soul Society into a Reigai crisis and ended with Iori’s apparent death. Yuki reached the Soul King Palace, where the King of the Quincy revealed that Iori had refused the Soul King’s throne to return to someone in the lower world.

  • Ritsuka agreed to Iori’s plan to connect Chaldea with other worlds, while Altair and Shizuna defeated a dragon and Iori began using Altair-inspired works to regulate Recognition Power.
  • Iori established rules across worlds and a recurring Super Holy Grail War, then returned to Soul Society and began making clothes for his family.
  • Nemu refused to reunite with her creator Mayuri, while Yuki studied Iori’s power and prepared to fake her death as part of her own research.
  • Yuki’s Reigai infiltrated Soul Society, turning captains against one another as Iori fought the corrupted and learned that Yuki’s apparent corpse was only a shell.
  • Yuki revealed herself as the mastermind and pinned Iori with binding Kidō, then awakened the Hogyoku and fought him after he released his Bankai.
  • Iori used forbidden Kidō against Yuki, then let her blade pierce his heart and died holding her as she realized he had been protecting her.
  • Yuki defeated Yamamoto and Zaraki, took Iori’s body, extracted human souls to make an Oken, and challenged Kyoka before reaching the Soul King Palace.
  • Yuki defeated the palace guardians and confronted the King of the Quincy, who revealed Iori had refused the Soul King’s throne because he could not abandon Cerasviel von Einzbern.
