Background / History

The Nine Provinces began as a harsh gray-brown star body wracked by natural disasters. Over an immense span of time, its environment stabilized, life appeared, the Human Race emerged, and cultivation developed to the point that its experts could explore the starry sky. 1129

In the Pre-Nine Provinces Era, it was a top-tier Human Race Realm. Its prominence, Dao Tree inheritance, and the atrocities of a previous Dao Tree successor named Chao Nian drew a coalition of enemies against it. 1821 1822

Facing destruction, its remaining cultivators refined the Heaven's Mystery Disk. While one force resisted the invaders, the other activated the Disk and relocated the entire realm to an unknown new location, where its aura could be concealed. The relocation consumed much of its foundation; ninety percent of its cultivators died, its mass contracted, and its inheritance was largely severed. 1130

The Heaven's Mystery Disk later developed an Artifact Spirit fused with part of the realm's World Will. This entity—known as Heaven's Mystery or Little Nine—has concealed, managed, and nurtured the Nine Provinces for tens of thousands of years. 1132 1400

• Bing Province is a major front in the conflict between the Vast Sky Alliance and Myriad Demon Ridge. Its Twelve Passes form the Vast Sky Alliance's foremost defensive line, with Vast Sky City behind them. 855
• Numerous Floating Lands orbit the realm in a regular pattern. These include the Spirit Stream Battlefield, Cloud River Battlefield, and other Mystic Realms. 1295
• Little Nine collected shattered worlds and Floating Lands near the realm, turning them into locations where cultivators can obtain opportunities and experience other worlds. 1295 1400

Society and Cultivation

The Nine Provinces' cultivation society was historically divided between the Vast Sky Alliance and Myriad Demon Ridge. Their conflict was especially concentrated in the spatial battlefields rather than the mainland itself. 29

Every cultivator, including Rogue Cultivators, possesses a Battlefield Mark bestowed by Little Nine. The Mark permits access to the Spirit Stream and Cloud River Battlefields, communication, and the tracking or exchange of Merit Points and Battle Merit. 784 1399

• Spirit Stream Battlefield — an ancient and unexplained battlefield entered through Heaven's Mystery Pillars. Its location is unknown even to Divine Sea Realm cultivators. 29

The two factions temporarily set aside their conflict during the Bug Disaster, then cooperated in the campaign against the Blood Race. Their relationship subsequently eased to an unprecedented degree. 1056 1840

Integration of Other Realms

• Peerless Continent — Heaven's Mystery connected it to the Nine Provinces after Lu Ye's group placed Heaven's Mystery Pillars in its Mystic Realms. Its surviving Human Race later entered the Nine Provinces, and its foundation was absorbed. 824 833 2036
• Blood Refining World — the Nine Provinces launched an expedition against the Blood Race, rescued the Blood Refining World's Human Race, and later absorbed the realm's foundation. 1175 1825 2036
• Flower Realm — Hua Qianying attached the Realm King Flower to the Nine Provinces, causing the Flower Realm to merge as a complementary subsidiary realm. It became a major source of medicinal materials. 1696 2138

Thousand Hills Tomb Migration

Little Nine chose to relocate the Nine Provinces to Thousand Hills Tomb to gain easier access to the resources within its burial mounds. Lu Ye established Heaven's Mystery Pillars there, enabling the successful migration and rapidly improving the realm's Spiritual Energy. 2144

Six months afterward, the first Spirit Jade mine appeared within the Nine Provinces, confirming its promotion into the top-tier realm sequence. 2146

Current Condition

The Nine Provinces has expanded to several times its original territory through Realm Fusion. Its Spiritual Energy is exceptionally dense, its mortal population is prosperous, and both the number and average aptitude of cultivators continue to rise. 2386
