Background / History
Du Bisi was the Body Sect's former Sect Master and the elder brother of its later master, Du Busi. He believed deeply that Body Martial Souls were not inferior to Weapon or Beast Martial Souls, and fought Mu En to prove that conviction. Both combatants were Level 98 Super Douluo; Mu En survived but was permanently crippled, while Du Bisi was presumed dead for decades. 250 251 254
In reality, Du Bisi survived with severe, life-threatening injuries and withdrew into the uninhabited Far North. His body was covered in wounds, including three dragon-pressure-infused claw marks on his chest that continued to erode his flesh and meridians despite his collection of ice-attribute heavenly treasures. 253 254
At the brink of death, he encountered Shennong, an ancient body martial soul wielder and the founder of the Body Sect. Shennong restored Du Bisi with life energy, accepted him as a disciple, and bestowed the Eight Gates and Seven Heavens Breathing Method secret arts upon him. 254 255
Du Bisi fused with Shennong's Gelel Stone, condensed a Life Soul Core, and became a Limit Douluo. After Shennong's body finally failed, Du Bisi buried his master in the now-green ice cave before departing to seek the Gelel Stone Vein. 257
Appearance
Du Bisi is a tall, physically imposing man whose Body Martial Soul cultivation gives him an exceptionally robust physique. After recovering from his injuries, he appears markedly different from the dying figure in the Far North: upright, rosy-complexioned, and surrounded by stable, powerful Soul Power. 253 265
- Possesses a tall, straight body and a muscular build. 74 265
- Wears fitted black clothing during his search of the Ice Sea. 265
- His Soul Power and body-based abilities manifest in jade-green or emerald-green energy. 74 265
- His golden-grade second awakening spreads jade-green patterns across his body and further enlarges his muscles. 74
Personality
Du Bisi is fiercely proud of Body Martial Souls and willing to gamble his life to establish their standing against other martial soul types. Even while dying, his greatest regret was failing to defeat Mu En; he still hoped their battle had proven the value of body martial souls to the world. 254
His pursuit of power is uncompromising. He accepts Shennong's teachings and the Gelel Stone because they offer a path beyond Mu En and toward an undying body, then captures a Heaven Dou imperial descendant to fulfill the blood requirement for opening the Space-Time Hole. 256 265 283
Despite his arrogance, Du Bisi can recognize danger. He becomes cautious after witnessing Uchiha Itachi's Amaterasu and Tobi's Kamui, and he ultimately accepts the Dawn Organization's cooperation against Gyuki because the guardian threatens his goal. 273 283 286
Abilities & Skills
Body Martial Soul
Du Bisi's own body is his Martial Soul. Its golden-grade second awakening grants him a powerful poison-oriented physique and enables a giant Martial Soul Avatar. 254 268 270
- Enters a Second Awakening state that manifests a giant avatar for combat. 270
- Possesses the Myriad Poisons Physique, which supports his poison-based techniques. 268
- Relies heavily on physical power, allowing some attacks to bypass Samehada's Soul Power absorption. 278
Eight Gates
A secret body technique created by Shennong. Opening its gates produces drastic increases in Du Bisi's physical combat power, though it places severe strain on his body. 255 271
- Opens at least the Sixth Gate during his battle with Kisame. 270
- Keeps the Seventh Gate, Gate of Wonder, active in battle; it manifests as blue steam and grants Demigod-level combat strength. 278 290
- Uses Morning Peacock, a physical flame-producing attack that Itachi's Amaterasu can consume. 273
- Uses Daytime Tiger, whose force vaporizes seawater across a dozen li and leaves a massive crater. 278
- The technique risks causing his body to collapse if overused. 271
- The Eighth Gate is stated to potentially grant God Level power, but Du Bisi doubts whether it would be enough against powerful Sharingan wielders. 284
Seven Heavens Breathing Method
The second body technique inherited from Shennong. Its specific applications have not been shown, but Shennong considered it one of the secret arts capable of demonstrating the superiority of Body Martial Souls. 255 257
Poison Sea of Suffering
A domain-type soul skill activated through the Myriad Poisons Physique and Du Bisi's ninth hundred-thousand-year soul ring. 268
- Creates emerald poisonous mist over a large area. 268
- Can kill opponents below Title Douluo level within several breaths after exposure. 268
- Against Title Douluo-level opponents, it can obstruct Soul Power circulation, dull senses, and cause paralysis rather than guarantee death. 268
- Soul Power-based poison can be absorbed and neutralized by Kisame's Samehada. 268
Venom-Tongue Long Whip
Du Bisi transforms his tongue into a several-zhang-long dark-green poisonous whip. 268
- Can break through defensive techniques such as Kisame's Water Formation Wall. 268
- Produces flames when empowered by the Eight Gates, allowing Du Bisi to contest Kisame's water-based attacks. 270 271
- Its Soul Power component can be absorbed by Samehada. 269
Life Soul Core and Gelel Stone
The Gelel Stone's life energy allowed Du Bisi to form a Life Soul Core, restore his vitality, and attain Limit Douluo status. 256 257
- Grants immense life force and an effectively endless lifespan. 257
- Does not prevent physical aging on its own. 255 257
- Du Bisi believes absorbing the entire Gelel Stone Vein would give him a truly non-aging, immortal, and highly regenerative body. 257 286
Equipment / Items
- Gelel Stone — Shennong's treasure, fused into Du Bisi's body to provide immense life energy and enable his Life Soul Core. 256 257
- Ice-attribute heavenly treasures — More than ten varieties gathered in the Far North in an unsuccessful attempt to suppress Mu En's lingering dragon-like wound energy. 253
Relationships
- Du Busi — Younger brother and the later Body Sect Master. Du Bisi entrusted the sect's future to him while believing himself near death. 254
- Mu En — Long-standing rival. Their Level 98 battle left Mu En crippled and Du Bisi presumed dead; Du Bisi remains determined to surpass him. 250 253 256
- Shennong — Master and savior. Shennong healed Du Bisi, taught him the Eight Gates and Seven Heavens Breathing Method, and sacrificed his remaining life to help him advance. 254 255 257
- Tobi — Temporary ally from the Dawn Organization. Tobi saves Du Bisi from the Space-Time Hole and proposes cooperation against Gyuki. 266 283 286
- Uchiha Itachi — A Sharingan wielder whose Amaterasu and Susanoo make Du Bisi wary; Shennong's final condition requires Du Bisi to one day defeat a Sharingan Martial Soul wielder. 256 273 284
- Kisame Hoshigaki — Dawn Organization combatant who battles Du Bisi at the Ice Sea. Samehada's ability to absorb Soul Power forces Du Bisi to rely more on body-based techniques. 268 271 278
- Gyuki — Guardian of the Gelel Stone Vein. Du Bisi initially underestimates the octopus-like soul beast and is struck into a rock wall. 286
