Imperial University.
Student Cafeteria No. 2
Qin Xin hurriedly replied to President Hong Jingtian's messages while picking out a few dishes at random.
Classes had ended early that day, so the cafeteria was at its busiest.
Xiangxiang was on duty at one of the serving stations and could only bring Qin Xin a small bowl of specially prepared medicinal soup before hurrying back to her post.
As soon as school let out, Ao Xinghao was summoned by the academy's athletics department, who begged him to help train the winter swimming team for the upcoming campus winter games.
With Ao Xinghao, that clingy pest, gone, Qin Xin was alone again.
No one came near her. Everyone kept their distance from the "Ugly Freak," looking at her with strange, disdainful eyes. She sat all by herself at a secluded window-side table in the cafeteria, slowly eating lunch.
After being offline for several days, she had finally logged back in, and there were so many people looking for her that she couldn't reply to them all.
And that didn't even count the fact that she hadn't logged into the WeChat account Qin Xin usually used.
If she did, the people at Qin Corporation would probably turn the place upside down.
On her secondary chat account, the avatar of a white-bearded Santa Claus kept flashing and flashing.
Qin Xin pinched the bridge of her nose and opened the chat.
"QQQ, emergency! The big shot developing the robot has decided he wants to meet you in person!"
"Little friend, his status is no ordinary matter. He never meets people casually, so you absolutely have to come!"
"He wants to meet as soon as possible. Could you squeeze him in?"
"As long as you're willing to give the big shot's smart products some feedback, name your price! Money is no problem at all for someone at his level."
"Little friend, I know your identity has been sensitive lately, and that medical paper caused such a stir that so many people are watching you. You can't just meet people casually right now. But this time is different. Helping this big shot would be a huge boon to your connections in the future..."
"QQQ, if you don't reply soon, this old man's beard will fall out from worrying about you. Doesn't your conscience hurt at all...?"
"Squeeze him in? Hmm?"
"QQQ!"
Qin Xin covered her forehead with her hand.
What kind of people did she know, anyway?
President Hong Jingtian of the mighty Red Society was a middle-aged man who acted cute with her every day, calling himself "your most loyal little darling."
The Royal Academy's esteemed principal was a man over fifty who'd even resorted to a sympathy ploy to get her to work for him.
With Old Man Zhou's lush, Santa-like beard, he could pluck out ten thousand hairs and still have plenty left.
Only a fool would believe him.
Qin Xin checked her schedule.
Finals were approaching, and her classes were packed. If she wanted to leave campus, she'd have to go on the weekend or at night... but she still had to put on a face mask at night to whiten the original owner's little face.
"Next week."
She replied with just three words.
The other person immediately sent a long string of messages, flooding the screen.
Qin Xin: "..."
Why could an old man type ten times faster than her? It felt like her cheap older brother had given her an old-folks' phone while the other guy had a smartphone!

When Lan Yingjun and Qin Wenrou entered the cafeteria,
they saw Qin Xin holding chopsticks in one hand and scrolling through her phone with the other.
Scrolling through your phone while eating—
that was the textbook behavior of a bad student.
Qin Wenrou shook her head with a sigh. "You know her, right, Senior? She's the worst student in Class Two, dragging down the whole class's end-of-term scholarship results..."
Lan Yingjun frowned.
Young Master Jue had told him to tutor her. If Lan Qingxin didn't study hard and failed her exams, he'd be in serious trouble. Young Master Jue would pull all his investments!
That girl wasn't even thinking about anyone else.
He strode over.
Qin Wenrou immediately regretted it.
She'd meant for her senior to see how hopeless Lan Qingxin was, so he'd dislike her even more.
But why did he look so worried and concerned?
She should've kept her mouth shut!
