Background / History

Isshiki arrived in the Ninja World alongside Kaguya, who ambushed him and fed half his body to the God Tree. Near death, he parasitized the passing monk Jigen. Jigen was not compatible with a complete reincarnation, so Isshiki remained hidden for roughly a thousand years, founded Kara, and searched for a better vessel 332 354.

He obstructed humanity's moon landing both to keep his existence from being discovered and because he believed contact with the Ōtsutsuki remnants on the moon would bring disaster. When Lin Qing called seeking help against those remnants, Isshiki offered it in exchange for Lin Qing's body, but refused Lin Qing's demand for a face-to-face meeting 332.

Lin Qing eventually found him. After fighting through both Kāma states, Isshiki proposed a truce, then tried to escape when Lin Qing made continued freedom conditional on containment or exile. Lin Qing severed Jigen's head and sealed it with Ripple crystals, halting Isshiki's reincarnation 355 359. Correction for citation style: 355 356 357 358 359

Lin Qing later broke the seal in a desert trap, forcing Isshiki to reincarnate. Isshiki survived the Star-Destroying Cannon and escaped a black hole, but the accumulated injuries left him close to death. The White Snake Sage then offered him a route to survival through Madara Uchiha 387 388 391 396. After their fusion, Isshiki gained control of their shared body during an argument over the God Tree and later led Kaguya and Momoshiki in an attempt to counter Lin Qing 398 400 402. The Research Institute subsequently learned that Isshiki died when Lin Qing extracted his discs during reincarnation and forcibly interrupted the unsealing of his Kāma 441.

Appearance

In Jigen's body, Isshiki presents a gentle, composed manner; activating Kāma makes his bearing cold and predatory 356 359.

Personality

Isshiki is patient and strongly driven to survive: he spent a millennium in hiding rather than risk reincarnating through an inadequate vessel. He can speak politely and negotiate, but regards humans as beneath him and rejects the idea of being bound by their rules 332 358 359. Lin Qing's attacks expose the fear beneath his composure; even after regaining his true body, Isshiki acknowledges that fear of death had governed his life in hiding 356 388.

Abilities & Skills

Kāma and reincarnation

Kāma lets Isshiki draw on his Ōtsutsuki power through Jigen and eventually reincarnate, destroying the vessel in the process 355 356 388.

• Jigen's incompatibility made reincarnation dangerous: Isshiki believed that forcing it during his first fight with Lin Qing would leave him less than three days to live 358.
• A suitable replacement needed exceptional compatibility or exceptional physical power; Isshiki judged Lin Qing's body highly desirable 332 396.

Sukunahikona

Sukunahikona rapidly shrinks nonliving objects within Isshiki's sight and can also shrink Isshiki himself; it cannot shrink other living beings 357.

• He uses self-shrinking to evade attacks, conceal his movements, and reduce damage 357 396.
• Lin Qing's spatially empowered iron ball resists the ability 388.

Daikokuten

Daikokuten stores shrunken objects in a dimension where time stands still, then summons them as needed 357.

• Isshiki combines it with Sukunahikona to fire nearly invisible black rods and enlarge them on contact. The rods can pierce targets and absorb chakra 357.
• He also summons high-density black cubes whose gravity can pin down an opponent 389.

Combat and spatial travel

• Close combat: A highly experienced fighter with formidable taijutsu, physical strength, regeneration, and vitality 357 358.
• Spatial portals: Can travel across vast distances and between spatial layers, though Lin Qing's C-Moon can disrupt his escape portals 358 396.
