With the Third Hokage's support, Uchiha Fugaku and Hizashi Hyuga both smoothly became subordinates of Uzumaki Kuming. Assigning a Genin like Might Duy was even less of a problem. After the four of them assembled in the Hokage's office, they each went back to pack, getting ready to head for Rōran.
As for Hatake Sakumo, a member of Kuming's squad, he still hadn't returned from the front lines, so he wasn't included in the mission. The Third Hokage had already notified Minato Namikaze, and Minato would meet up with them when Kuming and the others set out.
Kuming and the others prepared quickly. By dusk that same day, Kuming was ready and had arrived at the village gate to meet up with the others.
Kuming's outfit was quite simple. Apart from his black, close-fitting clothes, he had two pouches of ninja tools at his lower back and two weapons, one long and one short, at his left hip. He stood at the gate, waiting for his teammates to arrive. His storage-sealing skills had reached a certain level, so he could easily pack the things he needed for the trip into scrolls.
Minato was the first to arrive at the meeting place. It was hard to say whether he was planning to go on vacation, but he'd actually brought a small backpack. And beside him was a white-haired kid.
"Hey, Minato, I don't remember this mission involving that kid."
That's right. The white-haired kid following Minato was Kakashi Hatake. The youngster had a short sword strapped to his back, and a black mask covered the lower half of his face. When he saw Kuming, he looked a little embarrassed.
"I reported it to Lord Hokage. He said Kakashi could come along."
