Shangguan Yue fed chakra into the fish's body and carefully sensed what was happening.

"Phew. Damn, no, this is too hard. As expected, I'm still hopeless. Even with the answer right in front of me, I can't copy it.

Where are the cells the scroll talks about? I can't find them."

The scroll lay open before him. It read: First, locate an active cell. Use chakra to stimulate the cell's core and promote cell division...

But where were the cells? There were so many of them—which one was the so-called active cell?

"You even drew a diagram, but...but... I can't see it! How am I supposed to know whether the cells I sense are the active cells you're talking about?

Shangguan Yue hurriedly attached his spiritual energy to his chakra and sent it into the fish's body.

Watching cells pass by him one after another, Shangguan Yue found it incredibly fascinating.

"Damn, there you are! So this is what you feel like, active cell."

Shangguan Yue guided his chakra over to the active cell and examined it closely.

Shangguan Yue rubbed his hands together. "All right, let's begin."

"Pop—ow! Too much force. I burst it. Next one."

"Pop—ah, it burst again."

Shangguan Yue charged through the cells like a brute. Before long, he felt their activity slowing down.

"Huh? What's going on?"

Shangguan Yue came back to his senses and looked at the fish. Its eyes had rolled back, and it lay completely still.

"Haha, my bad, my bad."

Shangguan Yue chuckled awkwardly, punched a small hole in the ground, tossed the fish in, and buried it.

He looked at the fish tank. "Hmm, there are still plenty. It should be fine."

"Phew, this wasn't hard at all. Easy as pie."

Shangguan Yue looked at the little fish flopping around in his palm and finally relaxed, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

If not for the potholes in the ground, you might almost have believed Shangguan Yue. Judging by the number of holes, he'd clearly bought some more fish, too.

"I'm exhausted. I'm going back to sleep."

Shangguan Yue stood up and walked around. His whole body ached, and he could barely muster any energy.

"Forget it. I'll sleep here at her place. She'll be my woman anyway, so why go home?"

Shangguan Yue walked into Tsunade's house, made his way to the bedroom as if he knew it by heart, and fell asleep the moment he hit the bed.

The night passed uneventfully, and the sun was already high in the sky the next day.

"Click." The door swung open. Shangguan Yue was still fast asleep, scratching his butt with one leg exposed.

"Sis, you're still sleeping. Get up."

Senju Nawaki grabbed one corner of the blanket and tugged hard. "Huh!!! Who are you?"

"Who is it?"

Irritated at being woken, Shangguan Yue opened his eyes and glared at the person who'd disturbed his sweet dreams.

"Who are you?"

"This is my house. Who are you?"

"Your house? You're Senju Nawaki?"

"Yeah. Who are you, and why are you sleeping in my sister's bed?"

"Hehehe, I'm already sleeping in your sister's bed. Guess what kind of relationship we have."

Nawaki tilted his head and thought. "You look about my age. What could you have to do with my sister?

"My sister's child? No.

"My sister's relative? No, I'm her only family.

"Her friend? But there's too big an age gap.

"Her boyfriend? Even less likely—you're too young.

"So there's only one possibility: you're a thief!

"Tell me, how did you get in?"

"Oh, young master Nawaki, you're so clever. Even if I were a thief, do you really think someone this small could sneak into the Senju Compound and make it all the way to your sister's bedroom?"

"I don't care. Take this!" Senju Nawaki swung a punch at Shangguan Yue.

"Hey, if you keep this up, I won't hold back." Shangguan Yue easily dodged Nawaki's punches.

"Go ahead! I want you to stop holding back. Let's see what you can do."

"Let's go outside. This isn't the place to fight." Shangguan Yue climbed through the window and stood outside, watching Nawaki follow him.

He held out one hand and beckoned. "Come on."

"I just learned Healing Jutsu yesterday, and I've gotten better at controlling my chakra. I'll use Senju Nawaki to test it out."

"Haha, sorry, buddy. You and my sister are probably pretty close, but I just got back from learning from my teacher, so I'm going to use you to practice."

Both of them intended to use the other as a stepping stone and test what they'd learned.

Nawaki was impatient. He didn't look for an opening; he simply charged in with his fists raised. After a brief exchange, they got a feel for each other's strength.

"Nawaki's really strong, but I'm not bad either. I got the Sage Body too late. Otherwise, my physical strength would've been way ahead of my peers by now."

"Looks like it'll take a while to settle this with just hand-to-hand combat."

After they traded another punch, Nawaki used the momentum to dash far away, then faced Shangguan Yue.

"I'm going to use a jutsu now. Be careful."

"Go ahead."

Nawaki rapidly formed Hand Seals and shouted, "Water Release: Water Wave!"
