It all started with Jaina.
Jaina had become a bridge between the Horde and the Alliance, inviting both sides to sign a peace treaty. King Varian had signed it as well. The Black Dragon Princess, who intended to sow chaos between the Horde and the Alliance, had therefore come to see him as a thorn in her side.
Through her scheming, King Varian had then been kidnapped and split into two halves. His kind but timid half had returned to Stormwind City, where he continued to reign as king under her influence. His brave and fearless half, meanwhile, had collapsed on a beach in Durotar and become a crocodile's prospective dinner.
Then Rehgar Earthfury, an exceptionally powerful orc warrior, had witnessed King Varian tearing the crocodile apart with his bare hands. Awed by his courage, he had brought King Varian to his own arena and assigned him two teammates, forming a three-on-three team.
Varian had killed an Orc Blademaster with ease, becoming Rehgar's prized fighter. He had been given the name "Rexxar," meaning "Ghost Wolf." In fact, he was already a man favored by the wolf demigod Goldrinn.
Varian had then formed a new team with two other legendary figures, the druid Broll Bearmantle and the assassin Valeera Sanguinar-a truly invincible gladiator team.
Under Varian's leadership, the team had won the grand championship at the Dire Maul arena. After that, King Varian had escaped...
Okay, that was enough plot exposition.
Shawn brought his story to that point, then concluded, "In short, King Varian has now become an outstanding gladiator, winning glory for Rehgar's team. He must be at some major arena right now, either the Blood Circle Arena or the Dire Maul arena, or perhaps somewhere else..."
