Andy had been staying at the inn for several days and had met everyone on Nathas's team. The entire group now consisted of only five people, with a whole inn to themselves.
Nathas had said that the original team had been much larger, with as many as thirty people in all. But after waiting for so long, the others had already left Lordaeron and returned to Quel'Thalas.
The only heavyweight in the delegation now, Sylvanas, the High Elf Ranger-General, was frowning, at a complete loss.
"I think the northern kingdoms have no intention of sending troops. Lothar has run out of options!" Sylvanas said.
"If we can't persuade them to unite against the enemy, they'll be caught completely off guard when the Orc army truly marches north to attack." Nathas frowned as well. "Quel'Thalas is separated from the mainland by only a narrow strait. If the humans fall, then..."
"We can't just give up. We have to find a way—even if we have to force them to comply, we must get them all on the same page!" A cold glint flashed in Sylvanas's eyes, and her voice turned icy.
Andy glanced sideways at her and felt a chill run through him. Sylvanas's gaze was astonishingly cold.
Just as the two of them were at their wits' end, one of their subordinate Elves knocked and came in. He bowed to Sylvanas and Nathas. "Your Excellencies, King Terenas has just sent word that the representatives from the other kingdoms have all arrived. The meeting will be held this afternoon."
Sylvanas waved him away, her brow furrowing even more deeply. "Well, that settles it. If the other kingdoms refuse to help, there's no point in waiting. We'll go back and think of something else."
