Nathas felt a little guilty toward his only student. Andy had called him "Teacher," yet he had simply waved him off and left without personally teaching him even the basics, giving him only a small booklet. Nathas knew perfectly well that the booklet was cheap street trash.
Though Andy had made the battles against the orcs and the hardships of the journey sound easy, it must have been a grueling ordeal. If Vanessa hadn't taken a sudden fancy to him and bought him, who knew where he'd still be suffering—Booty Bay or somewhere else?
So the next day, Nathas personally called on Lothar to ask for Andy.
"Good day, Lord Lothar!" Nathas was very polite.
Lothar looked at the man before him in puzzlement. He didn't recognize him at all. But to avoid offending anyone here, he could only smile in response.
"I'm Nathas. I've come today to ask you for someone," Nathas said after sitting down.
Lothar looked utterly confused. Ask for someone? Who? Had one of his men gotten into trouble again? But Nathas didn't look like he had come to lodge a complaint. Lothar could only frown and ask, "Sir, who is it you're looking for? Has one of my men offended you? If so, I'll call him over at once to apologize."
Nathas shook his head with a smile. "I think you've misunderstood, Lord Lothar. I came to ask for someone, not to look for someone. His name is Andy, and he's here with you. I heard that you personally put him under house arrest, so he isn't allowed to leave."
