"Krillin, you've trained well. I can feel it," Son Goku said to him.
"I think I've been training pretty hard, too," Krillin said with a bitter smile. "But it still isn't enough. I'm nowhere near as strong as they are... Everyone's dying one by one..."
"Gohan, I almost didn't recognize you. You've gotten pretty strong, too," Son Goku said, looking at him.
"Yeah. It's all thanks to Uncle Piccolo's training. It's a shame I couldn't help at all," Son Gohan said through his tears.
"Piccolo's dead, and the Dragon Balls can't be used anymore. No one can be brought back to life," Krillin said grimly. "Damn those two monsters."
Son Goku fell silent, anger slowly building inside him.
"Goku, why don't the three of us take them on together? With you here, we can definitely beat at least one of them!" Krillin said, clenching his fists. Then he asked, "By the way, I heard you went to train with King Kai. Is that true?"
"Yeah." Son Goku nodded without explaining further, then said, "I'll take them both on alone. You two stay far away so you don't get hurt."
"Alone?" Krillin stared at him. "No matter how strong you are, you can't beat both of them! Those two are unbelievably powerful."
"Yeah, Dad," Son Gohan agreed.
Son Goku said nothing. The anger radiating from him grew more and more intense.
But when Krillin saw the look on Son Goku's face, he seemed to understand at once. He quickly led Son Gohan away.
"I've never seen Goku this angry before," Krillin whispered. "Leave it to him. Goku will be fine."
Son Goku said nothing more. He walked step by step toward Nappa.
"What's the matter? Why do you still look so unconcerned? Are you challenging me?" Nappa sneered.
"I'll never forgive you!" Son Goku roared, his energy surging wildly.
His immense power shook the entire area.
Rocks shot through the air, and waves crashed against the shore.
"His power level is seven thousand... eight thousand..." When Vegeta saw the numbers on his scouter, his expression changed.
How could a low-class warrior's power level reach this high?
Still, he was nowhere near my level.
But I couldn't let him keep growing stronger.
When Son Gohan and Krillin sensed Son Goku's immense power, they were both stunned.
Neither of them had expected his power to rise so dramatically.
"Hey, Vegeta! What's Kakarot's power level?" Nappa hurriedly turned to ask.
"Over eight thousand," Vegeta said through gritted teeth.
"What? Eight thousand? That's gotta be wrong! The scouter must be broken!" Nappa's pupils shrank, disbelief written all over his face.
"Don't worry. I haven't even used Kaioken yet," Son Goku said calmly.
"Kaioken?" Vegeta blinked.
"Or Ultra Instinct," Son Goku said coldly.
"I have no idea what you're talking about," Vegeta said with a laugh.
"How dare you talk big to me, Nappa!" Nappa roared, charging at Son Goku with his arms flailing.
Thud!
A muffled impact rang out. When they looked again, Son Goku had somehow appeared behind Nappa and kicked him square in the back.
Pfft!
Nappa pitched forward and hit the ground.
Vegeta froze.
Son Gohan was stunned, too.
Krillin's eyes widened.
What had just happened?
"Damn it!" Nappa clambered to his feet, looking bewildered.
When did that guy get behind me?
How did I not see him?
"You bastard! I'll make you pay!" Nappa snarled.
"That's a lot of flailing for a paper tiger," Son Goku said calmly.
"What did you say? Say that again!" Nappa's face twisted with rage. "You dare call me a paper tiger?"
"I could tell from your attack just now," Son Goku replied, still composed.
"Fine! I'll show you just how powerful I am!" Nappa said. Layers of powerful energy enveloped him as he charged toward Son Goku.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Nappa launched a fierce barrage of attacks at Son Goku.
Son Goku didn't fight back. He simply and effortlessly dodged Nappa's punches and kicks.
"Raaagh!"
Nappa roared and threw another powerful punch.
It missed.
Nappa stared. Son Goku had vanished.
Where was he?
Where had he gone?
"Over here," Son Goku called from a distance.
Only then did Nappa locate him by following his voice.
Nappa's expression changed again and again.
"Did you see Dad's moves?" Son Gohan asked.
"No..." Krillin said, wiping away sweat.
Goku had gotten way too strong.
Vegeta fell silent, too.
How had Kakarot gotten so powerful in such a short time?
Whoosh!
Son Goku blurred and suddenly appeared directly above Nappa, planting both feet on his head.
It was an outright humiliation.
"Raaagh!"
Nappa felt like he'd taken ten thousand points of psychological damage and swung both fists at Son Goku.
Thud!
But Son Goku swiftly appeared right in front of Nappa and punched him hard in the stomach.
"Ugh..."
Nappa let out a miserable cry, feeling like his whole body was falling apart.
"That punch was for Chiaotzu," Son Goku said.
Thud!
Son Goku immediately followed with another punch, sending Nappa flying.
Just before Nappa could crash into the mountain behind him, he planted a foot against its side and sprang into the air.
"You bastard!" Nappa's forehead veins bulged. With a flick of his hand, he hurled a powerful blast of energy.
The energy shot down from high above, hurtling toward Son Goku.
"Hmph. An attack this weak isn't worth dodging," Son Goku said with a snort, his power flaring.
The energy blast was instantly shattered by the force of Son Goku's aura.
"Next, this one's for Tien Shinhan!" Son Goku shot into the air, appearing directly above Nappa.
Thud!
Son Goku delivered a sharp, downward hook kick to Nappa's head.
Nappa plummeted from the sky.
Whoosh!
Son Goku swiftly chased after him.
"This one's for Piccolo!" he said, kicking out again.
Thud!
Nappa crashed headfirst into the rocky mountain behind him, his body embedded deep in the stone.
But Nappa soon leaped back out of the mountain, fury written all over his face.
"You monster! I'll never forgive you!" Nappa roared.
