Soro had been eating on Atlantis Planet for twenty-five years, and now the mere sight of an abalone made him want to walk the other way.
In truth, when one thought about it, the natives there were essentially cat-people.
An abundance of seafood was only natural.
Coming to Earth this time, Soro intended to collect some seeds to bring back to Atlantis Planet.
Potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, chili peppers, cumin...
Not a single one could be missing.
"Soro, what's wrong?" Bulma saw Soro's eyes reddening again and asked with concern, leaning forward slightly.
"The food here is truly delicious." Soro spoke the truth, picking up a chopstick of greens and stuffing them into his mouth. "The planet I'm on doesn't have such fine delicacies."
"Is the environment on your planet very bad?" Bulma asked, tilting her head with a slight frown.
"There isn't much high technology on the planet." Soro sighed, putting down his chopsticks. "Under my guidance, we barely managed to invent electricity and steam engines."
"Ah?" Bulma looked at Soro with sympathy, her mouth slightly agape. "Steam engines? Those seem like machines from a very ancient era..."
"And this! This! This..." Soro pointed his finger at the tomatoes, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and other crops not found on Atlantis Planet, tapping his finger above the plates. "We don't have any of these ingredients."
"Your planet doesn't even have these things?" Bulma felt even more sympathy for Soro, her brow furrowing tighter.
She then asked curiously, "Then what do you usually eat?"
"The seafood on the planet is quite rich." Soro said, reminiscing as his gaze turned distant. "Things like king crab, giant prawns, abalone, sea cucumber, oysters—we have everything of that sort."
"How about I ship some ingredients to your planet, how does that sound?" Bulma's eyes lit up as she made the suggestion, clapping her hands together in front of her chest.
"That would be truly wonderful." Soro nodded in thanks, a sincere smile on his lips. "Thank you."
"Then it's happily decided." Bulma smiled, her eyes curving into crescents. "Before we go to Namek, we'll go to your planet first to drop off some ingredients."
"It's not on the way." Soro shook his head slowly. "That would add several days to the trip to Namek."
"It doesn't matter." Bulma blinked, giggling as she tapped her finger on the tabletop. "You've helped us so much; this is the least I can do."
"I saw two spaceships when I landed on Earth." Soro mused, rubbing his chin. "The other one belongs to Nappa, right? We can give that ship a simple modification to use as our transport, and set mine to autopilot to deliver the cargo directly to Atlantis Planet. I'll leave a letter for them to follow my instructions."
"If that's the case, then there's no problem at all." Bulma nodded slightly, her expression turning serious.
She paused.
"With empty Hoi-Poi Capsules, we can transport so, so many things over there. I'll take you around these next two days, and anything your planet lacks, I'll pack it all up for you."
"I am truly grateful!" Soro quickly thanked her.
This way, Xiao Yibai and the others wouldn't have to eat seafood every single day.
Finally, they would be able to taste a variety of different foods.
The corners of Soro's mouth lifted slightly as he picked up another piece of potato and popped it into his mouth.
After eating for a while.
Son Goku really couldn't sit still anymore.
He twisted and turned in his chair as if his backside had nails in it, glancing toward Soro from time to time with bright, eager eyes, looking like he was raring to go.
"Is something the matter?" Soro smiled and put down his chopsticks, having essentially understood Son Goku's intent.
"Well... Soro." Son Goku suggested excitedly, bracing his hands on the edge of the table. "Are you full? Shall the two of us spar a bit?"
"Sure, no problem." Soro nodded and stood up from his chair.
"Goku, are you kidding me?" Krillin was speechless, his mouth twitching as his eyes went wide. "You want to challenge Soro? Soro uses the Flash Technique; there's no way to counter that."
"Dad." Son Gohan chimed in, tilting his head. "Doesn't wearing Sunglasses not even work?"
"Don't worry." Soro smiled slightly, his gaze sweeping over the group. "It's just a spar; I won't use the Flash Technique."
"That's great!" Son Goku laughed excitedly, leaping up from his chair. "I was worried there would be no way to counter your Flash Technique."
"Thwack!"
The next moment, Son Goku vaulted from his seat, performed a somersault in mid-air, and landed directly in the spacious area to the side.
His feet hit the ground with a dull thud.
Soro also rose from his seat and walked unhurriedly to the opposite side of Son Goku.
The two stood facing each other, about five meters apart.
The lights in the courtyard shone down on them, casting two shadows on the ground.
Piccolo set down his water glass, turned around, and crossed his arms, his gaze locked on the two of them.
Krillin stood up from his chair, walked to the side, and put his hands on his hips.
Son Gohan climbed onto a chair and knelt, resting his small hands on his knees, his eyes unblinking.
Master Roshi stroked his beard, his eyes narrowed.
Korin crouched on the table, his tail swaying gently.
"Soro, I'm starting!" Son Goku said, first performing a formal match bow toward Soro.
He brought his feet together, leaned his body slightly forward, kept his hands at his sides, and then bowed.
His form was standard, his expression earnest.
"Come on then." Soro nodded, beckoned to Son Goku, and curled his fingers upward.
The atmosphere at the scene grew tense.
Piccolo, Krillin, Son Gohan, Master Roshi, and Korin immediately focused their gazes on the pair.
They were also very curious to know just how large the gap was between Son Goku and Soro.
If Soro hadn't helped this time, they wondered if Goku would have been able to defeat Vegeta and Nappa.
"Snap!"
A powerful aura erupted directly from Son Goku's body.
The energy flared out from within him, golden light dancing across the surface of his skin.
The grass on the ground was blown backward by the airflow, and the plates on the table trembled slightly.
"Whoosh!"
Son Goku stood on no ceremony; he stomped his right foot against the ground, producing a dull thud.
His figure transformed into a streak of light, moving so fast he left only a trail of afterimages as he rushed rapidly toward Soro.
Immediately following, Son Goku swung his fist, pulling his arm back with his hand clenched tight.
A layer of energy condensed over his fist, and he smashed it straight toward Soro's face.
Soro stood where he was, motionless.
He slowly extended a single finger, holding his index finger upright.
"Clack!"
The next moment, Son Goku's fist slammed heavily into Soro's extended index finger.
Fist and finger collided, producing a crisp, sharp sound.
Soro stood his ground, calm and composed, as steady as a mountain.
His body did not sway in the slightest, his feet as if nailed to the ground.
Not even his finger trembled.
