"These dishes must have been such a hassle to make! What time did you even get up?"
Watanabe Mari stood up at some point, walked over to Saegusa Mayumi, and asked.
"Well, I slept quite well last night, so I managed to wake up early for once."
"If you don't mind, everyone, please have a taste! I accidentally made a bit too much, and I can't finish it all by myself."
Kudo Mitsunobu generously invited everyone to try it; or rather, that had been his intention all along, and he was simply going with the flow.
"Is that so? Then I won't stand on ceremony!"
Watanabe Mari's eyes lit up. She returned to her seat to retrieve her chopsticks, picked up a piece of rolled omelet, and popped it into her mouth.
"Mmm! Delicious."
After tasting it, Watanabe Mari's eyes narrowed slightly, and a look of pure intoxication appeared on her face.
Seeing that Watanabe Mari had already started, the others present could not resist the temptation of the gourmet food and began to dig in as well, with the Shiba siblings being no exception.
"Delicious!"
"Shocking!"
"Unbelievable!"
A series of exclamations erupted from these young ladies, who were usually so poised and polite. After all, everyone enjoys good food; no matter how they usually carry themselves, they all wore expressions of bliss while enjoying the meal.
"Thank you for the treat!"
Saegusa Mayumi pulled out her handkerchief and wiped the remaining sauce from the corner of her mouth.
The bento box, which had been packed to the brim, was now only about half full after the group's relentless assault.
"I'm sorry! I seem to have gotten a bit carried away. Kudo-kun, is there enough left for you? Do you want me to give you some of mine?"
"No, no, it's fine."
Kudo Mitsunobu shook his head and pulled the bento box back in front of him.
"I don't usually eat that much, so this is plenty."
"Still, your culinary skills are truly beyond imagination!"
Watanabe Mari chewed the sushi in her mouth as thoroughly as she could, then took a sip of the canned green tea she had bought from the vending machine.
"I just enjoy the process of cooking. Besides, I don't think the food from the automated meal machines tastes very good."
Kudo Mitsunobu pressed his palms together, ready to begin his own meal. After all, the lunch break wasn't that long, and he still wanted to use the student council's equipment to make some adjustments to his CAD after dinner!
He had finished the settings last night, and the magic sequence programming had already been written into the CAD; now, he just needed to perform some fine-tuning.
"What's wrong, Mayumi? Can't you eat anymore?"
Watanabe Mari looked at Saegusa Mayumi, who was poking at her own tray with her chopsticks; the food on her tray remained almost entirely untouched.
"It's just... it's the same food as before, but after eating Kudo-kun's lunch, this has become completely tasteless!"
Saegusa Mayumi pouted, her eyes drifting toward Kudo Mitsunobu's bento box from time to time.
"Now that you mention it, it really is true!"
Ichihara Suzune, who had been silent until now, spoke up. Even she couldn't help but feel a strong sense of disparity.
The Shiba siblings showed no particular reaction. Expecting Shiba Tatsuya—a brother who only had eyes for his sister—to act unnaturally over food was simply impossible.
Furthermore, in Shiba Tatsuya's heart, Kudo Mitsunobu's cooking likely couldn't compare to the bento his sister made for him by hand.
Shiba Miyuki was indeed surprised by the quality of Kudo Mitsunobu's bento, but she wasn't the type of woman to develop curiosity toward any man other than her brother.
After all, being able to cook was a trivial skill that couldn't possibly compare to her flawless brother, Tatsuya.
Saegusa Mayumi and Nakajo Azusa nodded repeatedly, appearing to be in complete agreement with Ichihara Suzune's opinion.
"Is that so? Then, Kudo-kun, why don't you bring a portion for Mayumi next time you make a bento?"
Watanabe Mari shifted the conversation, directly teasing Saegusa Mayumi and Kudo Mitsunobu.
She had recently become quite fond of teasing the two of them; leaving Kudo Mitsunobu aside, Saegusa Mayumi's reactions were simply a sight she never grew tired of.
"Mari! What are you saying!" Saegusa Mayumi's face turned bright red instantly, a flush spreading across her clean cheeks.
Having Kudo Mitsunobu bring her a bento—wouldn't that be the same as the two of them dating? And even if they were dating, shouldn't she be the one bringing a bento to Kudo Mitsunobu?
No, no, why was she even thinking about that? Wasn't that just like fantasizing about the two of them being in a relationship!
Saegusa Mayumi's face grew redder and redder, the temperature rising until she looked like a steaming machine.
"I don't mind at all! It's not much trouble to prepare an extra portion for the senior."
Chapter 20 I Told You It Wasn't Like That
After lunch, everyone was busy with their own tasks during the limited time they had; after all, the Student Council was not a place for eating and fooling around.
Everyone had their own assignments, and Shiba Miyuki was currently learning the duties of an accountant from Nakajo Azusa.
Ichihara Suzune and Saegusa Mayumi were also occupied with their own work.
As for Shiba Tatsuya, since he had no Public Morals Committee tasks during the lunch break, he was tinkering with his CAD in the Student Council room.
"Tatsuya-kun, that's the Silver Cluster, isn't it! I never expected you to be able to buy such a rare CAD!"
"I heard that the quantity released at the time was extremely limited."
Shiba Tatsuya's hand, which had been wiping the Silver Cluster, paused. "I suppose you could say I was quite lucky! I actually managed to secure it just by placing a reservation."
