Background / History

Mayumi is the eldest daughter of Saegusa Koichi, head of the Saegusa Family. Though she has two older half-brothers who are the family’s heirs, she is recognized as an exceptionally capable member of the family; her father later remarks that she would likely have inherited had she been born male. Her younger sisters, Izumi and Kasumi, share the same mother as her. 3 613

At First High School, Mayumi meets Kudo Mitsunobu after her father arranges for her to look after him. His lack of response to both her appearance and her Magic Face piques her curiosity, while his academic and magical achievements impress her. 1 2 29
