Felix looked at his mother with a smile and readily agreed.
"Okay!"
Wendy smiled, reached out to stroke her son's hair, then got up and left the living room.
The door opened and closed, leaving Felix alone in the house.
Sitting on the sofa, Felix wondered when he could bring Lacus home and introduce her to his parents.
After some thought, Felix made up his mind.
"In a few days!"
After the proposal passed on January 21, C.E. 72, the reforms continued for twenty days.
PLANT's loosely defined system of government was finally divided into clearly defined roles. The twelve original members of the PLANT Supreme Council were relieved of every position they had held concurrently.
The existing committees were consolidated or abolished. In the end, the Defense Committee, Judicial Committee, and Administrative Committee were established as the new governing bodies under the PLANT Supreme Council.
In the council chamber,
Patrick and the other eleven members of the Standing Committee sat in their original seats, looking at the forty-eight new seats installed around them and the council members occupying them.
Patrick, who served as Speaker, addressed the chamber.
"PLANT's institutional reforms are now complete, but the leadership positions of the three major committees remain vacant. The main purpose of today's meeting is to elect their chairs."
Patrick looked around the chamber before continuing.
"Does anyone have a candidate in mind?"
As soon as the question was asked, Standing Committee member Yuri was the first to speak.
"Speaker, I propose that a current ZAFT officer be appointed to head the Defense Committee."
At this proposal, Siegel turned his gaze to Yuri. His expression remained calm, but his thoughts were in turmoil.
A moment later, Siegel looked toward Patrick.
Patrick asked Yuri,
"Explain your reasoning."
"The Defense Committee will oversee PLANT's defense
