Teased by Felix, Andrew turned his head to size up the young man beside him. After a moment of scrutiny, he reached out and patted Felix on the head. This gesture left Felix looking bewildered, and just as he was feeling puzzled, Andrew's voice rang out.
"How exactly is your brain wired, kid? You've barely been in the unit for two or three months, so how on earth did you get this incredibly strong?"
"Perhaps I was just adjusted better than the rest!"
Hearing this question, Felix was slightly stunned. He immediately thought of the scene he had witnessed when he had first been reborn, and he replied with a hint of speculation.
Andrew heard Felix's answer and, without a shred of suspicion, nodded in agreement. However, he still felt that the young man before him was so formidable not just because of his adjustments.
There had to be other reasons involved.
Seeing Andrew remain silent, Felix teased him once more.
"Captain Waltfeld, what do you think of my proposal?"
"I think nothing of it!"
Turning his head, Andrew rejected the idea point-blank.
After the refusal, he picked up his cup and walked toward the coffee machine.
"Do you want a cup of coffee?"
"I want mine with extra milk and sugar!"
Felix nodded and stated his requirements.
Andrew heard the request and corrected him with a grumble.
"Coffee without anything added is the only way to drink it pure. Adding milk and sugar is just ruining a delicious cup; your taste is truly bizarre."
Despite his words, he still fulfilled Felix's request with his actions. Felix simply smiled at the correction and the grumbling, ignoring it entirely.
The next day.
Around three o'clock in the afternoon.
Shortly after ordering the Ginn units on aerial patrol to shoot down the incoming missiles, Felix received a communication from low Earth orbit.
"Captain Griffith, we have been ordered to provide reinforcements!"
As the brief sentence reached his ears, Felix felt as though he had heard the most beautiful sound in the world. A smile touched his lips as he expressed his gratitude.
"Thank you for coming!"
"Captain Griffith, we will now proceed with the airdrop of MS units and supplies. Please secure the drop zone to avoid any unnecessary losses."
The voice sounded again over the comms.
Felix heard this and nodded in agreement.
"No problem!"
With those three words, Felix ordered all units to take to the skies and begin patrolling at different altitudes to protect the incoming supplies and reinforcements.
At 3:50 PM, the airdrop operation commenced.
The Drop Pods containing the reinforcements and supplies were launched from low Earth orbit. The entire delivery process lasted about thirty minutes. Once everything had been dropped, the transport unit began its return, not lingering in low Earth orbit.
On the ground.
At Victoria Spaceport.
Looking at the reinforcements and various supplies that had arrived, a brilliant smile spread across Felix's face.
"The supplies delivered this time include not only various MS parts, weapons, ammunition, and food, but also the newly developed low-altitude rapid-fire Anti-Aircraft Gun and Anti-Air Missile systems.
With these in place, our air defense pressure will be significantly reduced."
Andrew stood beside Felix, chuckling softly as he spoke.
Felix heard him and nodded with a smile.
Just then.
An officer in a White Uniform with Gold Trim walked toward him, stopping in front of Felix to offer a salute. Felix looked at him and returned the salute. As he lowered his hand, the officer spoke.
"Captain Griffith, we have come to provide support under orders from the Ministry of Defense."
"Thank you for your arrival."
Felix reached out to shake his hand, expressing his thanks. After the handshake, Doug looked at Felix and continued.
"By the way, Captain Felix, there is one more thing I need to brief you on."
"Mr. Doug, please, speak freely!"
"In addition to providing support, we have also brought your promotion orders from the Ministry of Defense."
Doug looked at Felix and continued.
"Based on your combat performance in this engagement, the Ministry of Defense has promoted you to White Uniform with Gold Trim."
"Congratulations!"
"Same to you! Same to you!"
Facing Doug's congratulations, Felix spoke with modesty. Andrew turned to look at Felix, wrapped an arm around him warmly, and laughed as he offered his own well-wishes.
"Congratulations! Your speed of promotion truly makes me envious!"
"It's nothing! I believe you'll have your own opportunity for promotion before long."
Hearing the congratulatory banter, Felix replied with a smile. Andrew thanked him with a laugh upon hearing this.
"Many thanks for your kind words!"
"Alright, let's not stand here chatting any longer. Shall we head inside?"
Looking around, Felix invited them into the Temporary Command Post to continue their conversation. Doug did not refuse, nodding in agreement.
At this moment, inside the Earth Alliance Forces command post on the outskirts of the Victoria Spaceport.
"Commander, we have just received word from our scouts embedded in the field."
Horton walked into Hope's room and spoke up.
Hope turned to look at Horton and asked.
"What news?"
"The ZAFT forces stationed at the Victoria Spaceport have received reinforcements. Based on visual estimates, this reinforcement force consists of at least one hundred and fifty MS."
Horton looked at Lieutenant General Hope as he delivered the intelligence.
After hearing this, Hope sat in his chair, deep in thought.
"At least one hundred and fifty MS in reinforcements, plus the remnants of their forces already in the spaceport—that brings the total at the Victoria Spaceport to at least two hundred and fifty units. With a force of that scale, the fighting will be even more difficult."
"Very well, I am aware of this."
Looking at Horton, Hope nodded in acknowledgment.
He waved his hand at Horton, signaling that he could leave.
Seeing the Commander's gesture, Horton turned and walked out of the room.
After Horton left, Hope reported to headquarters.
"Commander-in-Chief, the ZAFT forces at the Victoria Spaceport have received reinforcements; this MS contingent exceeds one hundred and fifty units."
"Understood. I will report this matter to the Council. Whether or not you receive additional troops will depend on their approval."
The Commander-in-Chief of the Earth Alliance Forces replied.
After saying this, he ended the transmission. Hope looked at the now-inactive communicator and placed it on the table.
He sat in his chair, choosing not to dwell on the matter any further.
Inside the Victoria Spaceport.
"Captain Griffith, what is the current status of the Earth Alliance Forces surrounding the Victoria Spaceport?"
Once inside the room, Doug looked at Felix and asked. Looking up at Doug, Felix's expression turned serious as he spoke.
"Although we have managed to annihilate some of the Earth Alliance Forces through our battles, their numbers remain significant. The number of Vanguard Fighter units is over six hundred, and they have at least four to five hundred armored vehicles."
