Herman looked at Eileen, replying to her in a calm tone. Once he finished speaking, he locked eyes with her and countered with a question.
"Eileen, aside from the Neutron Jammer, which is currently the optimal solution, do you have any other way to limit the production capacity of the Earth Alliance Forces and seal off their nuclear weapons?"
Following Herman's retort, Patrick Zala, Eileen, and the rest of the Hardline Faction turned their gazes toward Eileen, waiting silently for her answer.
Under the calm facade, Eileen pondered for a long time before finally lowering her head in defeat. She had no answer to this question, nor could she conceive of any equipment more effective than the Neutron Jammer.
Although this was the case, Eileen did not give up immediately. Shifting her line of thought, she addressed the Chairman of the National Defense Committee, Patrick Zala.
"Zala, have you thought through how to resolve the situation our allies will face following the proliferation of the Neutron Jammer?"
"Naturally, we have already considered it! Furthermore, we will not act abruptly. We will notify our allies before taking action, assisting them in coping with the impact of the Neutron Jammer and helping them achieve a soft landing through the crisis as much as possible.
In addition, we will also notify neutral countries, allowing them to make the necessary preparations to face the coming crisis and achieve a soft landing, while providing them with a certain degree of assistance!"
Having reached this point, Patrick Zala paused slightly, his expression turning colder, his voice hardening as well.
"As for the member states of the Earth Alliance that are hostile toward us, we will also use public channels to notify their civilians before the operation begins, allowing them to make certain preparations."
Having said this, he paused briefly while looking at Eileen, then continued a moment later in a firmer, unyielding tone.
"This is the extent of our benevolence; anything else is not for us to consider."
With that, Patrick Zala turned his gaze toward Siegel. He did not speak, but his eyes signaled that it was time for Siegel to act.
Understanding the look in Patrick Zala's eyes, Siegel ceased his silence and addressed the council members.
"We shall now proceed to a vote!"
After speaking, Siegel made his choice first via the screen in front of him. The others followed suit, and the results soon appeared on the central display.
After subtracting the abstentions, the votes cast by the Hardline Faction exceeded those of the Moderate Faction. Seeing this result, a smug smile tugged at the corner of Patrick Zala's mouth.
Seeing this, Siegel had no choice but to announce the result.
"I declare the proposal to proliferate the Neutron Jammer passed."
Once the result was announced, Siegel turned to look at Patrick Zala and continued.
"Zala, have your Ministry of Defense compile the corresponding proliferation plan and the points you just mentioned during the meeting into a report and submit it.
We need to review the contents of the plan."
"No problem, we will submit the plan tomorrow."
Nodding, Patrick Zala replied.
At the Victoria Spaceport.
After ending the communication with Patrick Zala, Felix walked out of the room and headed toward the Temporary Command Post.
Entering the command post, he asked Andrew, "How is the situation?"
"The situation is currently manageable. The Earth Alliance Forces launched a batch of missiles toward us, but they have already been shot down by our patrolling MS and ground-based armed forces."
He looked up at Felix to reply, then countered with a question.
"How did your communication with the Chairman go?"
"It went well. A batch of follow-up supplies will be sent to us first, and the MS units departing early will arrive in low Earth orbit tomorrow. The first batch of supplies will also arrive within a day or two."
Sitting in a chair, Felix replied to Andrew.
Andrew looked at Felix, pulled up a chair to sit down, and looked at the electronic map before them. "With the replenishment of follow-up troops, we can hold our ground with more peace of mind."
"Indeed! With the reinforcements, our chances of holding out grow greater. Once the follow-up supplies arrive around the 15th, we can make the Victoria Spaceport even more secure.
Dealing with the Earth Alliance Forces will be much easier then."
Nodding, Felix replied.
Just as he finished speaking, a report came from the doorway.
The two turned their eyes toward the entrance, looking at the soldier, and asked, "What is it?"
"Captain Griffith, your MS will likely be unable to sortie for the next day or two."
The soldier saluted and reported.
Felix frowned upon hearing this and asked, "What happened?"
The soldier pursed his lips, his eyes filled with respect as he explained the report.
"Captain Griffith, according to the inspection by the Maintenance Crew, due to your piloting style, your MS performed many maneuvers that were far too strenuous during combat, causing the wear and tear on many components to far exceed their originally designed service life.
Therefore, to ensure your MS remains in optimal condition, it requires a major overhaul, a process that will take one to two days."
"Fine, I understand."
Upon learning the result, Felix did not ask any further questions. After replying, he looked at the soldier and asked.
"Is there anything else?"
"Nothing else, Captain."
Shaking his head in response, the soldier turned and left.
After he departed, Andrew sidled up to Felix, threw an arm around his shoulder, and teased him.
"Not bad! You could say you're the first person to nearly scrap an MS just by piloting it."
"You can't blame me for that! If I kept the limiter on to protect the lifespan of the parts, I wouldn't be able to pull off many of those maneuvers. To increase combat effectiveness, I had no choice but to disable the limiter.
The result is what you see!"
Shrugging his shoulders, Felix looked at Andrew and said with an innocent expression. Hearing this, Andrew scrutinized Felix, his eyes filled with admiration.
"You really don't fear death, do you? If something went wrong during combat, you could have lost your life."
"You don't need to worry about that; I know my limits. I know exactly where the breaking point of these parts lies, so I just push them right up to that edge."
Smiling slightly, Felix replied with complete confidence.
Having said that, he turned his head to look at Andrew and teased him with a smile.
"You could try turning yours off too. Once you disable that thing, the mobility of the MS increases by a huge margin, making combat feel much smoother and more fluid."
Being teased like this, Andrew waved his hands repeatedly, refusing firmly.
"No way! No way! No way!"
After refusing, he continued.
"I don't have your meticulous, limit-pushing level of control, nor do I have a brain as awesome as yours to pull off stunts right on the edge.
After all, what you're playing is a tightrope walk; one slight misstep and the wire snaps, and your life could be over just like that."
"It's fine! You'll get better if you practice more."
Smiling, Felix teased him once again.
