The Collapsed Otherworldly Pure Land 'Heliopolis'

Under Luther's "journalistically charming" style of description, Rau Le Creuset undoubtedly became the central figure of the narrative.

Luther's deliberate framing served two primary purposes.

The first was to create a progressive sequence of implications, effectively suggesting that Le Creuset was acting on his own initiative, that this incident was not an order from ZAFT, and certainly not the intent of Plant—though, of course, this would only be effective if someone within Plant or ZAFT cooperated by cutting ties with him.

The second was to cast further suspicion upon Le Creuset, whose hands were already far from clean, and place him firmly under the spotlight.

Combined, these tactics not only increased the difficulty for Plant or ZAFT to shield Le Creuset but also offered them a stepping stone, or an olive branch, to "cut off Le Creuset and engage with Celestial Being."

As for the Archangel being implicated, aside from the fact that they were indeed "not clean," it also served as a pretext for Celestial Being's subsequent armed interventions.

After all, even if Celestial Being managed to step onto the grand stage of the Cosmic Era through the live broadcast of the "Heliopolis Collapse," they would naturally need to reveal their philosophy thereafter.

However, as Lacus—the "Lacus-turned-demon" of the original timeline—famously said:

"Philosophy alone, or power alone, is not enough."

After the Luther Fleet officially became a player in the chaos of the Cosmic Era as Celestial Being, it had to fully demonstrate its own power to gain a voice commensurate with its strength and ideals.

And the "unsinkable ship" Archangel, which wandered everywhere in the original timeline, was clearly very useful.

Although it was unclear to what extent it could be "used" as the timeline gradually shifted, at the very least, it could serve as a show of force against Artemis Fortress, just as Luther had done when he took on the four elites single-handedly.

To achieve these overt and covert goals, just as when he argued that "Orb, the Earth Alliance, and Plant are all murderers," sufficient evidence was indispensable alongside Luther's rhetoric.

Fortunately, under Luther's prior guidance, and relying on the efforts of the entire Gwameir crew—especially Monica, the former Special Operations Captain of the Principality of Zeon General Staff who led the team personally—Celestial Being was able to copy and filter the surveillance records and data from Heliopolis in time.

This allowed the full-frequency public address to synchronize with Luther's commentary, presenting the combat process—where both sides disregarded the safety of civilians and Heliopolis—to global viewers in chronological order.

The first half naturally showcased the part where Le Creuset's team infiltrated Heliopolis to seize the Gundam series.

It began with the calls from the Heliopolis port authority to Le Creuset's team, followed by footage of the team ignoring all warnings and brazenly deploying mobile suits to attack.

Next was the Earth Alliance warship entering the port of the "neutral nation Orb," along with the sortie of the Moebius and Moebius Zero units.

Finally, it showed the crossfire between the three parties, including the Heliopolis garrison, outside the colony.

"Perhaps some feel that what you have seen so far is acceptable. If so, let us look together at how Heliopolis, home to so many civilians, was dismantled step by step."

With Luther's introduction and the accompanying subtitles, the evidence regarding the "Heliopolis Collapse" entered its second half. After the initial, somewhat restrained skirmishes between the two—or rather, three—parties, the fighting became increasingly unrestrained as it continued, or to put it more charitably, impossible to restrain.

First were the Moebius Zero and CGUE units that broke out through the main axis.

Then came the Archangel, which used missiles recklessly inside the colony, ultimately striking the main axis.

Next was the Strike Gundam, which damaged a CGUE with its beam cannon while simultaneously blowing a massive hole in Heliopolis.

Following that was the Ginn, equipped with D-equipment, which breached the walls without a second thought.

Finally, the two sides engaged in a reckless, intense battle within the colony, which ultimately led to the disintegration of Heliopolis.

"As you have all seen, Heliopolis, once arguably the last peaceful sanctuary in this world untouched by war, has been reduced to floating rubble in space due to the war between Plant and the Earth Alliance, while its owners also bear an inescapable responsibility.

Before today, many might have been able to deceive themselves by pointing to Heliopolis or the neutral nation of Orb.

But after today, everyone must face a cruel reality: 'In all the vastness of Earth, there is no longer a single place of peace and safety!'"

Having exposed the inescapable responsibility of the owner, the Orb government, as well as the warring ZAFT and Earth Alliance forces in the "Heliopolis Collapse" through sufficient and detailed evidence, Luther's next step was to elevate the theme.

"Let us look back at the war over this past year!

First came the 'Bloody Valentine' and the 'April Fool's Crisis,' then the flames of war that gradually spread across the globe, and now, even Heliopolis, the only place left untouched, has met such an end.

If the war continues like this, it may well lead to a crisis that results in the extinction of humanity. Is this truly what we, as humans, desire?!

And looking back at the causes of this war, they seem so ridiculous now.

Those in power exert extreme pressure on one another for their own selfish interests, yet we are the ones who must bear the consequences when negotiations break down. Meanwhile, they remain in high positions, living in luxury, using their wealth and power to drive others—including women and children—onto the battlefield. Is this acceptable?!"

Although Luther wanted to point out the "war criminals" in one fell swoop;

Even though Celestial Being had initially established credibility and sparked public reflection, the conflict between "Naturals" and "Coordinators" was "deep-rooted."

Therefore, he still needed to provide a "defense" for both sides, while simultaneously laying the groundwork to point out the "masterminds behind the scenes."

"Those on Earth might think, 'It is all the Coordinators' fault,' or 'For a blue and pure universe.'

But ultimately, the emergence of Coordinators was based on our own desire for our descendants to be better.

Before Coordinator technology existed, we also used nutrition, education, and other means to enhance our offspring; Coordinator technology is merely a new method.

Not to mention that the Coordinators themselves did not choose to be born as such; they were born out of the earnest hopes of their parents.

Furthermore, current Coordinator technology actually has many problems; there is extreme fertility difficulty among second-generation Coordinators. They are by no means perfect beings.

Is the most fundamental problem not that those with wealth attempted to use Coordinator technology to consolidate their class, and upon finding the technology did not meet expectations, preferred to treat Coordinators as expendable pawns to divert conflict, rather than share the technology with the public and improve it further?!"
