Ivan's revelation echoed in their minds, causing them to freeze for a moment before they began to pray with fervor.
"Praise the great Lord of All Spirits."
At this moment, Little George and Gais saw Diana's strength and naturally no longer doubted whether she was worthy of the title of Knight.
Having received the Lord's revelation, their hearts were set even more at ease.
"Great Lord, so it turns out You were testing us all along!" Diana, having won the battle and been dubbed a Knight by the Lord, shouted with even greater excitement while her adrenaline was still surging.
Ivan hurriedly steadied Little George's body and floated into mid-air.
That's right, the reason Little George hadn't fallen earlier wasn't because he had used some magical means to levitate him.
It was because he had used his own jellyfish body as a cushion.
After Diana had snuck out of the room that night, he had taken the opportunity to consume the extraordinary power contained within that eyeball.
He had just finished differentiating a portion of the Heart-Dream Aspect's extraordinary ability and had hurried over, intending to bestow this gift upon Gais today.
Who would have thought that his other two followers would end up fighting right in front of the Small Chapel of the Holy Spirit Society.
By the time he flew into the alley, the battle was already nearing its end, and the moment he arrived, he saw Little George about to fall headfirst onto the ground.
Thus, without much thought, he instinctively rushed up and used his body to act as a buffer for his Bishop.
How should I put this? As expected of a "Punishment Knight" whose strength lies in combat, her close-quarters fighting ability is indeed a cut above Little George's "Shaman" skills...
However, little Diana's attire today did look rather mysterious, which in Little George's eyes naturally didn't align with the image of a knight.
Come to think of it, this was Ivan's fault; to maintain mystery, he had only mentioned there was a knight without providing specific details, and the same went for Diana.
He looked at the excited Diana and said slowly:
"Miss Diana, as a Knight of the Holy Spirit Society, you still have a long road ahead of you; do not be satisfied with a momentary victory."
"Our Bishop George is simply a Shaman of the Natural Aspect who happens to be unskilled in close-quarters combat."
Diana nodded, feeling slightly curious about the Natural Aspect and the Shaman, but she suppressed the urge to ask.
She curtsied slightly to Little George, her tone a mix of a young girl's liveliness and a lady's deference:
"Bishop George, I am very sorry for causing you to misunderstand me. As the Lord's Knight, I will protect the development of the church well in the future!"
Little George hurriedly pulled his hand away from Diana's lace glove; after all, touching a young girl's hand was quite impolite.
He straightened his posture and rubbed his head in embarrassment. "Not at all, it is just that my strength is too weak..."
However, he quickly cheered up, determined to intensify his combat training in the future.
He welcomed Diana, saying: "Miss Diana, it is an honor to have you join the Holy Spirit Society!"
Ivan's voice continued to resound: "This gentleman in the tailcoat is Mr. Gais; he is a true gentleman and currently serves as the Missionary of the Holy Spirit Society."
Gais reached out to hover his hand near Diana's fingertips, performing the gesture of a light kiss toward the back of her hand through the air, and smiled slightly:
"Beautiful Miss Diana, with your arrival, I believe the future of the church will be as dazzling and eye-catching as your beauty."
Diana curtsied again, resting her right hand lightly on her left knee. The hollowed-out patterns of her gray lace short gloves pressed against her skirt, her fingertips slightly curled to maintain an elegant arc.
The movement was graceful and fluid, showing no signs that she was a Beyonder who had just experienced an intense battle.
I wonder what Mr. Gais's Aspect and extraordinary ability are...
The Lord had not introduced Gais's ability, and she couldn't help but feel curious inside.
But out of politeness, she still did not ask the question.
Ivan saw what she was thinking and shook his head.
What a curious young girl.
His grand voice resounded once more:
"Gais's ability will be either the [Whisperer] or the [Dream Awakener] of the Heart-Dream Aspect."
"This depends on which ability he is more compatible with."
The air fell into silence. Little George's expression became excited and thrilled, seemingly happy that Gais was also becoming a Beyonder.
As for Gais, he remained calm on the surface, maintaining that smile, while his heart was already surging with waves.
Although he had always firmly believed that the Lord would find a suitable path for him.
Yet, seeing these two young people, neither of whom were as old as him, both gain extraordinary abilities, it inevitably left him feeling a bit dejected.
He even felt some regret for having rejected the Order Aspect at the time, but unexpectedly, only a week later, the great Lord had brought him good news.
Praise the great Lord of All Spirits! he expressed his gratitude internally.
Ivan could see a noticeably thick stream of faith energy flowing into his body.
The more someone like Gais—a non-believer—was, the more intense their faith would be when it finally manifested.
As for Diana, her small mouth was shocked into an "O" shape.
The Lord said it will be... Could it be that the reason the Lord had me hold that strange eyeball was to allow Mr. Gais to become a Beyonder?
Her heart was in turmoil, and the scenes of the Lord's revelations to her over the past few days flashed through her mind.
"Great Lord of All Spirits, who has existed since ancient times, to think You would always keep Your followers in Your heart, whether new or old, whether ordinary or not!"
She could not calm herself for a long time; the experiences she and Gais had gone through made her increasingly convinced that the Lord of All Spirits answering their call was no coincidence, let alone the conspiracy of some evil god.
"The Church of Divine Grace is truly hypocritical, hypocritically claiming that one must undergo trials and concoct Magic Potions to arduously obtain extraordinary power.
With the great Lord of All Spirits, one only needs loyal faith to ascend to the extraordinary; why would there be any need for so many twists and turns?
It is clearly the Church of Divine Grace bullying us for our ignorance!"
The more Diana thought about it, the more indignant she became, her little face puffing up. The mysterious and dangerous aura she once held vanished, making her look quite adorable.
Ivan watched silently from above, observing the thoughts of the few people below and the energy of faith flowing toward him.
Hmm... some things are indeed better left unexplained. Let them fill in the blanks themselves.
Ivan reckoned that the time was about right; he did not want to waste any more of the believers' time inside, and he also wanted to replenish the faith energy he had recently consumed as soon as possible. Thus, he spoke to the three of them:
"Little George, you shall first preside over the baptism and communion for Diana and the new believers.
Gais, you remain outside; I shall bestow upon you the extraordinary power of the Heart-Dream Aspect."
Little George and Diana walked into the Small Chapel, leaving only Gais behind, still bowing and saluting the empty air.
Ivan's voice flowed steadily as he introduced the contents he had seen in the Book of Rituals to Gais in detail, including the Secret Rite and the Code of Conduct, before summarizing once more:
"[Whisperer] possesses the ability to hypnotize others and can alter their perceptions; you should have already experienced this.
[Dream Awakener] is primarily focused on one's own dreams, allowing one to frequently receive revelations.
Your talent is better suited for the Whisperer, though the bestowal of abilities carries a certain degree of randomness.
Are you certain you wish to become a Beyonder of the Heart-Dream Aspect?"
"I humbly obey Your revelation, great Lord of All Spirits." Gais did not lift his head, continuing to bow respectfully.
Ivan nodded, drawing the pink light transformed from the Heart-Dream Aspect out from his own spirit body and guiding it to slowly merge into Gais's body.
Gais trembled all over for a few moments, and after a while, his voice sounded once again:
"Great Lord, my consciousness—or rather, my Spirituality—prompts me that I have become a 'Dream Awakener'."
