History

Taiseki led a search squad pursuing Uchiha Chonhua and other Konoha ninja through the Land of Rain. After losing their trail, his unit received their location from an unknown faction through a Rain civilian. The faction’s ability to find both sides made Taiseki suspect a mole in his own squad, but he postponed the matter to keep his men focused on the pursuit 67 68.

The chase lasted more than half a year and cost Taiseki several men. He continued pursuing Chonhua’s group despite his subordinate’s concern that the squad had strayed from its original mission of investigating Konoha Anbu attacks on Iwagakure’s border forces. Taiseki argued that the Konoha group might provide leads—and that he would not abandon the deaths of his comrades 69.

During the ensuing ambush, Chonhua’s lightning attack paralyzed Taiseki as he hid underground. Chonhua pulled him to the surface and trapped him in Demonic Illusion: Shackling Stakes Technique. Taiseki was captured while the rest of his unit was wiped out; his death was reported afterward, though the provided account does not show how he died 70 71 73.
