"Sorry, Chen." Kazuha Toyama apologized to Chen awkwardly, leaving him momentarily stunned.
"Kazuha, this has nothing to do with you. Why are you apologizing to me?" Chen asked her.
"If it weren't for me, Heiji Hattori wouldn't have come here. And part of the reason he attacked was because of me, so I really should apologize," Kazuha Toyama said.
"At most, this is Heiji Hattori's problem. You don't need to take it onto yourself. Besides, the one who got hurt wasn't me." Chen shrugged.
He was perfectly fine. Heiji Hattori was the one who had been injured—and had even lost two teeth—so Chen did not care in the slightest. It was not as though he had suffered any loss.
"Even so, I still feel sorry," Kazuha Toyama said. She disliked Heiji Hattori more and more. He was always trying to hit people at the slightest provocation. She had no idea why he had become like this.
Yet Kazuha Toyama had never considered that she herself was partly the reason he had become this way.
"I'm going to check on Heiji," Conan said, glaring at Chen before running down the mountain.
"They've all left. What should we do? Should we follow them?" Genta asked Mitsuhiko.
"Let's go take a look. Ayumi, are you coming?" Mitsuhiko called out to Ayumi.
"You guys go ahead. I'm staying here." Ayumi shook her head.
Genta and Mitsuhiko then jogged after Conan and Heiji Hattori. After all, they had come with them, and Genta and Mitsuhiko were not familiar with Chen and the others.
Now that Conan and Heiji Hattori had left, they felt too awkward to remain here.
Well, those two actually knew how to feel awkward sometimes. That really was rare.
"It's already noon. Let's get something to eat. I'm starving."
