Background / History

Heiji arrives at the Kudo residence seeking Shinichi Kudo, whose greater nationwide fame fuels his jealousy. His arrogant, blunt behavior immediately antagonizes Conan, Kogoro Mouri, and the household. He gives Conan Chinese baigan liquor, inadvertently helping Conan temporarily revert to Shinichi’s adult form. 842

After learning Conan’s true identity, Heiji becomes his partner against the Black Organization. He promises to protect Shinichi’s secret, investigates the organization despite Heizo Hattori’s warnings, and remains in Tokyo to investigate both the organization and the suspicious Hyuga Shin. 849 952 955

His investigations place him in direct danger. He is shot, subjected to Akako Koizumi’s body-enhancing potion, and easily defeated alongside Shinichi when they confront Chen.
