Heiji Hattori had some fame as well. Of course, his name did not carry nearly as much weight here as Shinichi Kudo's.
Shinichi Kudo's name could not be borrowed, so they could only use Heiji Hattori's. Fortunately, some people knew of him too.
Yusaku Kudo's identity would also have been quite useful here. After all, he was a mystery novelist with quite a few fans.
"I never expected something like this to happen, but I think I have a rough idea of who the murderer is."
Chen brought Ran and the others elsewhere. After comforting Sonoko Suzuki for a while, he spoke up.
"Really? Chen, tell me. I'll kill him myself."
Sonoko clenched her fists as she spoke to Chen. If she could find the murderer, she would absolutely make him pay in blood.
"Didn't I mention it before? That person we ran into—I think he's the murderer."
Chen had no evidence; it was entirely speculation. Yet that speculation was already almost certainly correct.
After all, the fact that he had shown killing intent toward both Sonoko and Tomoko meant that he held a grudge against the Suzuki Family.
"Are you sure it was that person?" Tomoko asked Chen.
"This isn't an unfounded guess. It should be him."
Chen's words were no longer baseless speculation. The first priority now was to find that man.
There had been security cameras here, but they had conveniently malfunctioned. The murderer had not left behind anything either.
Shiro Suzuki had died after his throat was cut with a knife. Even the murder weapon had been left behind, though they would have to wait for the investigation to determine whether it bore fingerprints.
However, Chen guessed that it probably did not.
If it had, the culprit would not have left the weapon here.
