Then, he turned to Kushina Uzumaki and the other girl and said, "Find an empty seat in the classroom and sit down."
Kushina Uzumaki was boisterous and seemed not to care about anything, while Tomoko Uzumaki was the complete opposite, appearing incredibly shy.
"Their hair is so strange, isn't it? It's red, similar to Choza's hair."
"Yeah! Look at that Kushina Uzumaki, her face is so round! It's like a pancake, and with that red hair, she looks just like a tomato."
A vein popped on Kushina Uzumaki's forehead. She suppressed her anger, walked down, and plopped herself into Mikoto's seat.
Shin Hyuga couldn't help but look at her.
"What are you looking at, Miss? Do you want to mock me too? Don't think I won't hit you." Kushina raised her pink fist and gestured toward Shin Hyuga.
"Don't you see the books here? Someone is already sitting here." Shin Hyuga pointed at the books on the desk.
"So what? I'm sitting with you; that's giving you face. Don't tell me you look down on me? I insist on sitting here, what are you going to do about it?" Kushina said with a spoiled, arrogant expression.
"Only for today. When Mikoto comes tomorrow, you'll have to move." Shin Hyuga finished speaking and laid his head back down on the desk.
"Hmm? Where is student Mikoto? Why hasn't she come?" Ueno Juri had intended to lecture these disobedient students, but noticing Kushina sitting in Mikoto's seat, he asked instead.
"Teacher, Mikoto isn't feeling well today, so she didn't come to class," Shin Hyuga said, standing up.
"What happened? Is it serious?" Ueno Juri asked with concern.
"It's nothing, just a minor issue. She'll be fine after a good sleep." Shin Hyuga shook his head.
"That's good!" Ueno Juri nodded, then his face turned stern: "You bunch of brats, what did I just tell you? You started gossiping about the new students the moment I turned my back. If I hear it again, see how I punish you."
"Student Kushina, just sit there for now! Student Tomoko, go to a seat in the back. I'll rearrange the seating when there's time."
"Ah... yes, yes!" Tomoko Uzumaki said nervously before hurrying toward a seat in the back.
"Student Tomoko, there is no need to be so nervous," Ueno Juri reassured her. These two were students the Hokage had personally instructed him to look after; Ueno Juri could not afford to be careless.
Chapter 39: Self-Introduction
"I've already introduced your names, so now I want you to introduce yourselves—your likes, your dreams—so your classmates can get to know you."
"Let's start with student Kushina."
Ueno Juri knew Tomoko Uzumaki was shy, so he wanted Kushina Uzumaki to break the ice.
Kushina Uzumaki was not stage-frightened at all; she slapped the desk and stood up.
"My name is Kushina Uzumaki. I like ramen, and I hate tomatoes, sissies, and this guy here." Kushina pointed at Shin Hyuga.
Shin Hyuga was full of question marks. Had he offended Kushina?
"My dream is to become the first female Hokage. That's my introduction." Kushina sat down, puffing out her cheeks.
"Hahaha... wanting to become Hokage, you're killing me. Nawaki, Minato, your rival has arrived."
"By 'sissy,' does she mean Minato? Minato does look quite feminine."
"And there's Shin, that guy who narcissistically calls himself a heartthrob who charms all the girls—he actually got hated."
As soon as Kushina finished speaking, various jeers followed. Even Shin Hyuga, Nawaki, and Minato were caught in the crossfire.
"Hmph! Just a woman, yet she wants to become Hokage. Overestimating herself." Uchiha Ken snorted coldly. Although he hadn't said it aloud, his goal was also to become Hokage.
Furthermore, Uchiha Ken had set a small goal for himself: to first become the head of the Uchiha Clan.
"Only I can become Hokage." Fire burned in Nawaki's eyes; whenever the Hokage was mentioned, he was always full of fighting spirit.
"Let's work hard toward the position of Hokage together!" Minato, who had felt awkward because of Kushina's "sissy" comment, said with a smile.
"Hmph! Sissy." Looking at Minato's sunny smile, Kushina snorted lightly. She despised sissies the most.
Minato smiled awkwardly and sat back down.
"She acts tougher than anyone on the outside, but she's incredibly fragile on the inside. She's the complete opposite of the gentle-on-the-outside, strong-on-the-inside Mikoto," Shin Hyuga whispered.
Although Shin Hyuga's voice was low, Kushina heard it perfectly and glared at him with angry eyes.
Because Kushina's face had a bit of baby fat, it looked round, and with her red hair, she really did look like a tomato.
"Truly, there are no wrong nicknames, only wrong names," Shin Hyuga muttered to himself before laying his head down.
Kushina glared fiercely at Shin Hyuga, then sat down angrily, planning to intercept him after school and beat him up to see if he would dare call her fragile again.
In truth, the current Kushina was exactly as Shin Hyuga described; she was merely using a facade to hide her vulnerability.
She had just experienced the destruction of her country and had only been in this strange village for a few days. With only Tomoko Uzumaki as a familiar face, she subconsciously tried to protect herself with a tough exterior.
She was suffering from extreme insecurity.
However, having been called out by Shin Hyuga, Kushina felt ashamed and angry, and she was currently plotting in her heart how to beat him up.
Yet, Kushina didn't realize that while she claimed to hate Shin Hyuga, she didn't actually feel any hatred in her heart. On the contrary, she felt a familiar aura from him that made her feel very close to him.
"Tomoko, you introduce yourself too! No need to be nervous," Ueno Juri said, while fixing a fierce glare on the rest of the class.
These kids were simply not taking him seriously. He had already spoken, yet they treated his words like wind in their ears, making Ueno Juri want to discipline them to establish his authority.
Seeing Ueno Juri's stern gaze, the students below quickly sat up straight, looking like well-behaved children.
Tomoko Uzumaki stood up timidly and said in a soft voice, "I, I am called Tomoko Uzumaki. I, I like doing housework, I don't have anything I hate, and my dream is to live a peaceful and ordinary life."
The introductions were standard and unremarkable, with no one causing trouble or making mocking remarks.
Because Kushina Uzumaki was different from Tomoko Uzumaki, being far too delicate, the others felt too embarrassed to bully her.
"If any of you dare to bully Tomoko, I will absolutely smash your dog heads in," Kushina said 'ferociously.'
However, paired with her slightly chubby, baby-faced features, it held no deterrent power whatsoever.
"Woof woof!" Kuromaru barked unhappily at Kushina, feeling that he, a dog, had been caught in the crossfire for no reason.
"Quiet down, Kuromaru. It took a lot of effort for me to sneak you into the school," Tsume Inuzuka said, pressing Kuromaru's head down.
Kuromaru lowered his head in dissatisfaction.
Ueno Juri had black lines running down his forehead; out of the entire first grade, their Class A was definitely the most chaotic.
Having a fight break out on the very first day of school had made them famous throughout the academy, and then beating Fugaku Uchiha into the hospital had only bolstered that reputation.
With so many students from prominent clans in this class, they were simply too difficult to manage! Ueno Juri felt utterly helpless.
