"Listen up, everyone. Especially you two, Hyuga Shin and Nara Shikaku—if I catch you sleeping again, I'm throwing you both out." Ueno Juri said sternly.

These two were Ueno Juri's biggest headaches; despite sleeping all day, they managed to score full marks on every single exam.

Hyuga Shin lifted his head, looking helpless. With his peerless spiritual power, he possessed a photographic memory. He had already mastered all the theoretical material, so there was no need to pay attention.

"A lazy bum like you doesn't deserve to be a ninja. You should just go home and farm!" Kushina said with a sharp tongue.

"Snap!"

Hyuga Shin flicked his finger, striking Kushina on the forehead and bringing tears to her eyes.

However, Kushina was stubborn; she didn't make a sound, only gritted her teeth until they rattled.

"That should keep you quiet for now," Hyuga Shin said with a smile.

"You just wait, you jerk," Kushina hissed through gritted teeth before abruptly standing up.

"Teacher, he bullied me! He flicked my forehead!" Kushina pointed at Hyuga Shin, reporting him to Ueno Juri.

Ueno Juri, who was in the middle of a lecture, snapped the chalk in her hand with a click.

"Hyuga Shin, bullying a new student? You've grown bold, haven't you? Get out and stand in the hallway!" Ueno Juri then turned her gaze toward Choza Akimichi. "And you, Choza Akimichi, don't think I can't see you sneaking snacks. I see everything from up here."

Hyuga Shin glared at the triumphant Kushina, then walked over to Nawaki and snatched the handheld game console he was playing with.

"I'm borrowing this. Choza, bring your snacks. Let's go."

Under Ueno Juri's furious gaze, Hyuga Shin walked out with the console, followed by Choza Akimichi clutching a pile of snacks, the two of them sauntering out with swagger.

"Damn it, Shin! That's the latest console I saved up for ages to buy! Don't you dare break it!" Nawaki roared.

"Senju Nawaki, you get out there and join them too!" Ueno Juri bellowed.

Chapter 40: I Won't Hit You After School

"Don't be so stingy, Choza. You gave some to Shin, why not me? It hurts our classmate bond," Nawaki said, trying to beg snacks off Choza Akimichi.

Choza shielded his snacks with both hands, eyeing Nawaki warily. "Shin treats me to food all the time. You're such a miser—you never share, so I'm not giving you anything."

"It's not like I have money! My sister takes all my allowance. This game console took me a whole year of secret saving to buy," Nawaki said, looking pitiful.

Seeing that Nawaki was indeed pathetic, Choza Akimichi reluctantly pulled out a bag of potato chips and handed it over.

"Remember, you have to pay me back later," Choza reminded him.

"Don't worry, once I have money, I'll definitely treat you to a feast," Nawaki promised, patting his chest.

"Heh, you? Having money? Wait until you graduate and start taking missions," Hyuga Shin said, looking up with a disdainful smile.

"Then I'm not giving them to you!" Choza reached out to snatch the chips back.

But Nawaki was faster, dodging Choza's large hand.

"It's just a bag of chips. Look, you've got plenty more, don't be so stingy," Nawaki said, laughing as he tore open the package and inhaled the scent of the chips with intoxication.

Hyuga Shin couldn't help but kick Nawaki. "It's just a bag of chips, is there any need to be so dramatic?"

Nawaki rubbed his backside, annoyed. "How is it not? The last time I had snacks was half a year ago."

"Ha~ you guys are really living the life out here," Nara Shikaku said, walking out of the classroom with bleary eyes.

"Why are you out here too?" Nawaki asked.

"Need you ask? He must have been caught drawing eyes on his eyelids and got kicked out," Hyuga Shin said calmly. When he left the classroom, he had noticed Nara Shikaku sleeping and drawing fake eyes to fool the teacher.

Nara Shikaku nodded and helped himself to a bag of snacks from Choza Akimichi's stash.

By the time class ended, Ueno Juri walked out and glared at the four of them, absolutely furious.

Hyuga Shin was playing the game console, Nawaki was watching and occasionally shouting, Choza was stuffing his face, and Shikaku was leaning against the wall, fast asleep.

"You four are truly rotten wood that cannot be carved." With that, Ueno Juri stormed off in a rage.

"Teacher Ueno seems angry."

"It's fine! It's fine! Teacher Ueno is angry all day anyway."

"Nawaki, the two transfer students who arrived today—they're staying at the Senju compound, right?"

"How did you know, Shin? Yeah, they are, but they've been staying with Grandma. I've only seen them once a few days ago," Nawaki nodded.

"The Uzumaki Clan and the Senju Clan are distant relatives; I know that much." After saying this, Hyuga Shin tossed the console back to Nawaki and returned to the classroom.

"Hmph!" Kushina snorted when she saw Hyuga Shin, her eyes full of triumph.

Hyuga Shin glanced at her, deciding not to lower himself to the level of a little girl.

Seeing that Hyuga Shin was ignoring her, a wave of discomfort rose in Kushina's heart, and she poked him.

"You miser, don't tell me you're actually mad! Who told you to hit me? Do you know how much that hurt?"

"I wouldn't get mad at a little girl."

"Who are you calling a little girl? What part of me is little?" Kushina said indignantly.

"Heh, what part of you isn't?" Hyuga Shin deliberately glanced at Kushina's chest.

"Ah~~ you big pervert!" Kushina shielded her chest with both hands, looking at Hyuga Shin with the gaze one would reserve for a creep.

The corners of Hyuga Shin's mouth curled into an arc as he said with a tone of disdain, "There's nothing there; do you really think I'm interested in looking? Wait until you've actually grown up before you talk!"

"You, you just wait!" Kushina's cheeks puffed up in anger, making her small face look even rounder.

"I have to say, there's a real reason why they call you Tomato," Hyuga Shin said softly.

"You bastard!" Furious, Kushina grabbed Hyuga Shin's arm and sank her teeth into it.

"Are you a dog or something?" Hyuga Shin quickly retracted the power he had subconsciously activated. It was a good thing he reacted in time, otherwise, Kushina's teeth would have been shattered.

Hyuga Shin knew the Six Powers technique Tekkai, which could make his body as hard as iron. Although it didn't compare to the defense of Armament Haki, it was definitely more than enough to break Kushina's teeth.

"Ptui!" Kushina let go, spat lightly, and asked with a puzzled expression, "Your skin looks so fair and tender, so why is it like cowhide? I can't bite through it at all."

Seeing that she hadn't left a single tooth mark on Hyuga Shin's arm despite biting down for so long, Kushina was quite astonished.

"Shin, what's going on with you two?" Nawaki walked in, pointing at the arm Kushina was holding.
