Tsunade Was Looking for Him?

"Don't worry! Even if I forgot who I was, I'd never forget you." Hyuga Shin said with a serious expression, not joking in the slightest.

"Oh? So you admit you have ulterior motives?"

"Uh..."

"All right, I was only teasing you. But if you ever dare forget me, I'll really die right in front of you." Mikoto said it with a smile, but Hyuga Shin could feel how resolute she was.

"From now on, your life belongs to me forever. You won't be allowed to die. We'll be together forever." Hyuga Shin spoke softly.

Chapter 42: Tsunade Was Looking for Him? "Hello, I'm Mikoto Uchiha. It's nice to meet you." Mikoto smiled at Kushina.

"Hello, I'm Kushina Uzumaki. Just call me Kushina." Kushina's expression was less than friendly.

Mikoto's smile was as gentle as water, making her pleasant to be around, but Kushina was still incredibly annoyed, and it showed on her face.

She snorted at Hyuga Shin, then picked up her things and went to the back to keep Tomoko Uzumaki company.

Hyuga Shin was baffled. He didn't think he'd done anything to upset Kushina! Could she really have started liking him after just one day?

It's not impossible. Remembering the prize he'd drawn earlier, which increased his appeal to women, Hyuga Shin mused to himself.

"The big wife and the little wife are fighting." Nawaki came over, draped an arm around Hyuga Shin's shoulders, and spoke with a lecherous grin.

Hyuga Shin flicked Nawaki hard on the forehead. A huge bump popped up, and Nawaki rubbed at his eyes in pain.

"Why are you always sticking your nose into things? You're everywhere!" Hyuga Shin said irritably.

When Nawaki looked like he was about to say something else, Hyuga Shin raised his fist and waved it at him in warning.

Nawaki immediately wilted, clutching his head as he sulked back to his seat. The huge bump on his head drew laughter.

"My sister wants to talk to you. She told you to meet her tomorrow at nine at Konoha Training Ground 27." Nawaki spoke gruffly, still angry that Hyuga Shin had hit him.

"Tsunade wants to see me?" Hyuga Shin asked in surprise, then nodded. Tomorrow was the weekend. Come to think of it, he hadn't seen Tsunade in a long time because she'd been away on missions.

Kushina Uzumaki, who was sprawled across her desk, made a mental note of what Nawaki had said.

A few students came in soon afterward, their faces bruised and swollen. They looked as though someone had beaten them up, and they were staring fearfully in Kushina's direction.

At the sight, Hyuga Shin smiled. He hadn't expected Kushina to really get into a fight.

Ueno Juri arrived shortly afterward and asked the bruised students what had happened, but they all claimed they'd fallen. They were too embarrassed to admit they'd been beaten by a girl.

Ueno Juri could tell they were lying, but didn't press them. He began the day's lesson, and, unusually, Hyuga Shin stayed awake and paid attention.

Today's lesson was about setting traps. It couldn't hurt to learn, since he might need the skill someday.

Ueno Juri was surprised. Hyuga Shin, who usually slept with his head on his desk, was actually paying attention today. It made him wonder if the sun had risen in the west.

The morning classes soon ended. After the lunch break came the afternoon lessons. Hyuga Shin carried on as usual, training on his own before resting, and the day passed just like that.

The next day was the weekend, and Hyuga Shin got up early, stretched, and started eating the breakfast Mikoto had prepared.

"Come on, Mikoto! Let's go see what that big-breasted woman Tsunade wants with me."

"If Tsunade heard you say that, she'd definitely get angry. She might even beat you up. I'd love to see that." Mikoto giggled.

"Mikoto! Do you really enjoy seeing me get into trouble?" Hyuga Shin gave her a reproachful look, feeling that she was becoming more and more mischievous.

"Tsunade said you should come. Is it all right if I go too?"

"It's fine! Let's go!" Before Mikoto could say anything else, Hyuga Shin took her hand and led her out.

They walked at an easy pace and reached Training Ground 27 at half past eight. Hyuga Shin looked around and noticed that Tsunade hadn't arrived yet.

He didn't see Tsunade, but he did spot someone else. He picked up a small stone and threw it at a distant tree.

"Ahh!"

Kushina, who had been perched in the tree, was startled and cried out. Her hands and feet slipped, and she accidentally fell.

The trees in the world of Naruto were incredibly tall, usually more than ten meters. The one Kushina had chosen was even taller, nearly twenty meters high.

A fall from that height would leave her crippled at best, so Kushina closed her eyes in despair.

"No way! She actually fell." Hyuga Shin froze for a moment, then used the power of the Glint-Glint Fruit to turn into a golden flash and catch Kushina as she fell.

Kushina kept her eyes shut, but after a long while she still hadn't felt any pain. Instead, she felt a warm presence surrounding her.

Kushina's eyelids twitched. Then she opened her eyes and saw Hyuga Shin right in front of her. Tears welled at the corners of her eyes and slowly ran down her cheeks.

"Hey, hey! Please don't cry. I was only joking around. I never thought you'd fall. I'm sorry! I'm apologizing to you, so please don't cry."

When Hyuga Shin saw Kushina crying, he was at a loss. He'd been single in his previous life and had no experience; he had no idea how to comfort a girl.

He carried Kushina down to the ground, but she was still crying silently. Hyuga Shin felt completely overwhelmed and could only stand there holding her, dumbfounded.

After a long while, Tsunade finally arrived. Her arrival broke the awkward silence.

"What happened here?" Tsunade asked, pointing at Kushina, whom Hyuga Shin was holding. Her eyes were red and puffy, like a rabbit's.

Hyuga Shin gave an awkward smile.

"Kushina, did Hyuga Shin bully you? Tell me, and I'll make him pay." Tsunade glared furiously at Hyuga Shin.
