"Yes, yes, yes! Everything is because Lady Tsunade is so powerful that I am filled with admiration; I can only admit defeat and surrender."
"Shin, Lady Tsunade, are you two alright?" Mikoto and Kushina ran over, looking at them both nervously.
"He's fine, of course, but I did sustain a minor injury." Tsunade glared at Hyuga Shin. During their previous collision, she had been shaken by his immense power, though it was only a slight injury.
Chapter 45: Take Responsibility for Me
"Lady Tsunade, you're hurt! Is it serious?" Mikoto asked with concern.
"You big bully, you don't know how to cherish the fairer sex at all, actually hurting Lady Tsunade like that," Kushina scolded Hyuga Shin.
"It's fine. Shin actually held back; otherwise, it wouldn't just be a minor injury," Tsunade shook her head, casting a meaningful look at Hyuga Shin.
"Although I don't know where that bloodline limit of yours that emits golden light comes from, it's best not to expose it. It won't do you any good." Tsunade warned Hyuga Shin.
"I understand. Right now, only the three of you know my true strength. Everyone else just assumes I have natural-born strength and am a bit more capable than the average person," Hyuga Shin nodded.
Hyuga Shin understood exactly what Konoha was like. He knew that Konoha's specialty wasn't fighting external wars, but internal ones—and they were vicious at it.
When it came to attacking their own, Konoha was truly professional; no other ninja village could compare.
By the time the main plot began, was Konoha really worthy of being the number one village? Aside from the old man, the Third Hokage, who else could hold the village together? Was it the shadowy Danzo, or Kakashi, who was dragged down by his Sharingan?
The Sannin left the village one after another. Why? Was there really no hidden story behind it? In any case, Hyuga Shin didn't believe it.
If Hyuga Shin revealed the power of the Glint-Glint Fruit, he would undoubtedly face endless trouble.
"That's for the best. You two must help Shin keep this secret," Tsunade nodded, then looked at Mikoto and Kushina.
Mikoto smiled without speaking. Living with Shin, she had been the first to know of his immense power. She had seen with her own eyes how he had utterly crushed the elite jonin Uchiha Akito.
"As long as you promise to listen to this lady from now on, I'll help you keep the secret," Kushina said, tilting her chin up.
"Kushina, do you know what happens to girls who don't listen?" Hyuga Shin walked toward her with an evil grin.
"W-what, what happens?"
"Just like this."
Hyuga Shin grabbed Kushina and delivered three rapid-fire slaps to her backside.
Feeling the stinging pain, Kushina's face flushed bright red.
"You, you, you dare hit me there!" Kushina said indignantly.
"What are you going to do about it?" Shin looked smug.
"My mother said that a girl's backside can only be touched by her future husband. Since you dared to hit me there, you have to take responsibility for me," Kushina said, suppressing her shyness.
"Uh~~"
"That sounds like a good thing to me!" Hyuga Shin said, rubbing his chin.
Hearing this, Mikoto rolled her eyes at Hyuga Shin and pinched the soft flesh at his waist with her thumb and forefinger, twisting hard.
Clearly, Mikoto was jealous. Although she was as gentle as water, no girl would be indifferent to such a thing unless she didn't care about him at all.
"You guy, you're such a playboy. I don't know what Mikoto sees in you, and Kushina, I didn't expect you to fall for it too," Tsunade said unhappily.
She didn't notice the trace of jealousy in her own words. Tsunade would never admit that she could fall for a brat nearly ten years her junior.
However, Mikoto and Kushina exchanged a glance, clearly seeing through Tsunade's thoughts. Perhaps this was the keen intuition of women! Hyuga Shin didn't pick up on it at all.
"Hey! Are you going to agree or not?"
"Are you sure? You should know that once you decide, there's no turning back. Even if you want to leave me in the future, I won't let you go," Hyuga Shin looked at Kushina seriously.
"Of course. Once I, Kushina, make a decision, I never go back on it," Kushina said firmly.
Although she hadn't known Hyuga Shin for long—only three short days including today—she loved the feeling of being with him; it was very comfortable.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have come here specifically today.
"Alright then. From this day forward, you are my woman. I will never let you down; that is my promise," Hyuga Shin put away his smile and said solemnly.
"Mm!" Now that their relationship was confirmed, Kushina became shy.
But Kushina was, after all, the bold and passionate girl she was; the shyness lasted only a moment before she returned to her usual headstrong demeanor.
Yet, this headstrong nature of hers wasn't annoying; it was actually quite cute.
In truth, Kushina was just a bit of a tsundere.
"From now on, Mikoto and Kushina, you two need to get along well~! Kushina, you should move into my place later!" Hyuga Shin took their hands and placed them together.
Mikoto and Kushina looked at each other, not knowing what to say. To say they didn't mind the other would be a complete lie.
Hyuga Shin knew this too, but it would have to be smoothed out over time. In the original story, the two were good sisters; now, they were truly becoming 'sisters'.
Watching this scene, a complex look flashed in Tsunade's eyes. She felt like an outsider, and a suffocating discomfort filled her heart.
"You two chat! I have things to do, so I'm leaving," Tsunade turned and walked away, feeling disgruntled.
"Uh~ Tsunade."
"Forget it, let's head back too. We can help Kushina move her things," Hyuga Shin said with a helpless smile.
On the surface, the matter of helping Kushina move didn't cause any waves, but beneath the surface, undercurrents were already beginning to surge.
Whether it was the Konoha high command or the various great clans, all eyes were focused on Hyuga Shin.
The Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, even personally sought out the head of the Hyuga clan to give him a stern warning.
The Konoha high command was fully aware that Kushina Uzumaki was one of the vessels for the Nine-Tails, which was why they were so concerned about the movements of both Kushina Uzumaki and Tomoko Uzumaki.
In the original story, there was only Kushina, but now that there was an additional Tomoko Uzumaki, there were naturally two choices available.
This was the only reason Hyuga Shin was able to have Kushina move; otherwise, the Third would have already blown a fuse and invited Hyuga Shin to the Anbu for a cup of tea.
A glint of calculation flashed in the eyes of the other clan heads, and they instructed their disciples to get closer to Tomoko Uzumaki, thinking that if they could secure the aid of the Nine-Tails, their clan would truly take flight.
At the same time, they cursed the Hyuga clan for being so insidious and making their move so quickly.
However, the actions of these various clans irritated Sarutobi Hiruzen; he was not yet the decrepit old man he would become later, and he still possessed a fair amount of resolve.
He issued a direct order: no one was permitted to approach Tomoko Uzumaki with impure intentions.
Yet, for every policy from above, there is a countermeasure from below; you say we cannot harbor ill intentions, but how could you possibly know what we are truly thinking?
