Help Mikoto Awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan

"How boring. Couldn't you at least try to guess?" Kushina complained.

"I barely know any Jōnin! The only ones I know are Tsunade, Orochimaru, and Jiraiya. How am I supposed to know who our team leader will be?"

"Maybe it'll be Big Sis Tsunade," Mikoto chimed in.

"It's already a coincidence that we ended up in the same class. What are the chances Tsunade will be our team leader too? She's never even been a Jōnin instructor." Hyuga Shin grumbled.

"Oh? Are you saying you're very unhappy about me being your Jōnin instructor?" Tsunade asked as she pushed open the door and walked in.

"Big Sis, you're a Jōnin instructor too? You can be a team leader?" Nawaki eyed Tsunade suspiciously.

"What do you mean by that, Nawaki? Are you looking down on your big sister? And don't call me 'Big Sis'—do I look that old?" Tsunade fumed, raising her fist to give him a beating.

Nawaki immediately backed down. He knew exactly how violent his sister could be.

"Hmph! You three, come with me!" Tsunade said, then left the classroom.

Hyuga Shin shrugged and turned to Mikoto and Kushina. "Let's go! I can't believe Mikoto was right. It really is Tsunade."

"Hahaha... Your instructor is my big sister. Let me wish you luck in advance." Nawaki threw his head back and laughed, looking at the three of them sympathetically.

A stone came flying in from outside and knocked Nawaki flat on the ground.

"Nawaki, if you say another word, just wait till we get home!" Tsunade's voice rang in from outside. All their classmates looked at Nawaki with sympathy.

"Tsk, tsk! Nothing good ever comes of being popular. Come on, let's not bother with this idiot."

They followed Tsunade all the way to Konoha's training ground, where she finally stopped.

"We all know each other well enough, so there's no need for introductions. But we're going to spar now. I want to see what you can do." Tsunade clenched her fist.

"Great! I've been wanting to see how strong I am, too. Be careful, Big Sis Tsunade!" Kushina looked eager to fight.

"Bring it on!" Tsunade smiled. She might not be a match for Hyuga Shin, but she was sure she could handle a little girl like Kushina with ease.

Tsunade had been a Special Jōnin at ten. Going by that, she figured Kushina couldn't be any stronger than a Special Jōnin. She didn't think Kushina was more talented than she had been at that age. Tsunade was confident in herself.

But this time, Tsunade had badly misjudged things. Kushina really was stronger than Tsunade had been at ten—and by a considerable margin.

"Sealing Jutsu: Adamantine Sealing Chains!" Five chakra chains danced under Kushina's control, lashing toward Tsunade.

The chains cut through the air with a sharp whistle. Four blocked Tsunade's escape routes while the fifth lashed at her like a whip.

"Mikoto, attack now! I can't beat Big Sis Tsunade by myself. Shin, don't help us."

Kushina wanted to see if she and Mikoto could defeat Tsunade together.

Hyuga Shin shrugged, then leaped onto a nearby tree to watch.

Mikoto nodded. In her fitted ninja outfit, she looked poised and spirited.

"Rat—Horse—Snake—Dragon—Rat—Ox—Tiger, Fire Style: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!" Mikoto formed Hand Seals quickly, five per second. In just over a second, she unleashed the jutsu.

Mikoto's jutsu and Kushina's chakra chains converged on Tsunade, sealing off every possible escape route.

Feeling the scorching flames and seeing the chakra chains whip through the air in a blur, Tsunade dropped her guard no longer.

She kicked out a vacuum slash to meet the chains, then formed Hand Seals and used Water Formation Wall to block Mikoto's Fire Dragon Flame Bullet.

Kushina's chakra chains weren't broken, but they were knocked aside.

Mikoto and Kushina worked together. Kushina focused on controlling Tsunade, while Mikoto attacked with Fire Style, occasionally mixing in genjutsu. They actually managed to suppress Tsunade.

"You haven't even turned ten, and you've already awakened the Three-Tomoe Sharingan. No one in the entire Uchiha Clan can match you." Tsunade praised Mikoto as she gazed at her scarlet eyes.

Tsunade had never heard of anyone awakening the Three-Tomoe Sharingan before turning ten. Mikoto might one day rival the legendary Madara Uchiha.

Tsunade had seen the power of the Mangekyō Sharingan for herself. Even she could hardly break through Susanoo's defenses. If Mikoto awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan in time, even her own student might surpass her.

"All right, that's enough!" After seeing what Mikoto and Kushina could do, Tsunade called a halt.

"Huh? We're not going to keep going?" Kushina scratched her head, then withdrew her chakra chains.

"No need. I just wanted to see where your strength stood. You're both incredibly strong—the most talented I've ever seen. Even I can't compare." Tsunade praised them without holding back.

"Shin is much stronger than we are," Mikoto said with a gentle smile.

"Him?" Tsunade glanced at Hyuga Shin, who was sitting in the tree. "He's not normal anymore."

Hyuga Shin had been able to defeat her more than four years ago. Now Tsunade had no idea how strong he was.

But she knew that with her own strength, close to that of a Kage, she was no match for Hyuga Shin.

"Are you praising me or making fun of me, Tsunade?" Hyuga Shin jumped down from the tree and asked glumly.

"Heh... You can decide for yourself." Tsunade turned her head away.

"There's not much I can teach you. You already have the strength. All that's left is experience, and you'll have to gain that through your own judgment and what you go through. I can't help with that." Tsunade smiled wryly.

She was probably the most carefree Jōnin instructor ever. She didn't need to teach her students anything. She only had to take them on missions so they could gain experience.

Chapter 51: Help Mikoto Awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan

"Mikoto, do you want to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan?" Hyuga Shin suddenly asked.

His question drew Kushina and Tsunade's attention as well.

"Awaken the Mangekyō? You know how?" Tsunade walked over and put an arm around his neck.

"Of course. Even if you had a pair of Sharingan, I could help you awaken the Mangekyō." Hyuga Shin said proudly.

"Shin, didn't you say that the Mangekyō Sharingan would gradually go blind with use?" Mikoto asked with concern.

She wasn't worried about going blind. She was worried that if she did, she'd never be able to see Hyuga Shin again.

"Don't worry! I've already found a way to solve that problem." Hyuga Shin smiled.

"Hahaha... The Mangekyō Sharingan makes you go blind? Where did you hear that fake news? That's hilarious."

"Who told you the Mangekyō Sharingan makes you go blind?" Tsunade asked with a loud laugh.

"Huh? Shin told me. Was he wrong?"

"Of course he was! Madara Uchiha awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, and no one's ever heard of him going blind. Shin, did you hear some fake news?" Tsunade said, ruffling Hyuga Shin's hair.

Hyuga Shin irritably pushed her hand away, then straightened his hair. His head could break, his blood could flow, but his hair had to stay in place.

"Mikoto, let's ignore him. He acts like he knows everything, but he doesn't know a thing. If you're ignorant, keep quiet. You'll only make people laugh. Even the Uchiha Clan doesn't know how to awaken the Mangekyō Sharingan, so how could you know?"
