Sitting aboard a small boat bound for Moonshadow Island, Ran Mouri studied a map of the island.
"Moonshadow Island is just an ordinary little island. There's nothing to see," Conan said with dead-fish eyes as he flipped through it.
Vermouth glanced at Conan. Though she had not spent much time around him, with Vermouth's powers of observation, she naturally noticed that Conan was different from other children.
Compared to other children, this little boy seemed completely out of place among them. There were mature children too, but Conan was far too mature. His unconscious mannerisms revealed that he was unlike other bratty kids.
Conan sensed someone watching him and turned his head, only to see the older sister in the black dress who claimed to be Hyuga Shin's cousin.
Conan had his doubts about that identity. Did Hyuga Shin really have a cousin?
"This child seems different from ordinary children," Vermouth said with interest.
"Yeah! Ordinary children shouldn't have such huge heads. Big-headed kid," Shin muttered softly.
Vermouth was momentarily stunned, then looked at Conan again. Sure enough, his head was quite large—slightly bigger-looking than an ordinary person's.
"That's not what I meant. I mean this child is a little too mature."
"If I turned you into a child and didn't erase your memories, you'd be a hundred times more mature than him. Want to try it?"
Shin shot Vermouth a glance as he asked.
Vermouth froze slightly. What did Shin mean by that? The information implied by those words seemed rather significant.
"What did you mean by that?" Vermouth asked curiously.
"Nothing. We're almost at Moonshadow Island. If you want to know, investigate it yourself! Aren't you quite capable?" Shin lay against the bow, looking out at the sea.
"This island really doesn't have any sights," Ran said disappointedly
