Ran had actually defended that guy now. It was enough to make him furious.
Conan shot Shin a resentful glare before finally looking away, lest Ran lecture him again.
"Go home right now," Heiji Hattori ordered Kazuha Toyama.
Enraged by Heiji Hattori's commanding tone, Kazuha Toyama sprang to her feet and demanded angrily, "What gives you the right to order me around?"
Kazuha Toyama's angry question left Heiji Hattori momentarily speechless.
"I'm doing this for your own good. It isn't safe for you to stay here." Heiji Hattori even glanced deliberately at Shin, as though saying that Shin was the bad guy.
Ran and Sonoko Suzuki had both caught Heiji Hattori's look, and their brows furrowed slightly.
What did Heiji Hattori mean by that? Was he trying to imply that Shin was a bad guy? Ran and Sonoko Suzuki, who had already held a poor opinion of Heiji Hattori, immediately saw their impression of him plunge to rock bottom.
"Hey, you charcoal briquette, don't you think you're an eyesore standing here?" Sonoko Suzuki said bluntly, pointing at Heiji Hattori.
Being called a charcoal briquette right to his face, Heiji Hattori had to admit that he was indeed somewhat dark-skinned, but he wasn't that dark, was he?
Sonoko Suzuki's words were rather harsh, but that was exactly the point. Her opinion of Heiji Hattori had already hit bottom, so nothing she said could be too much.
"Don't you think that was rather rude of you to say?"
"That depends on who I'm saying it to. Besides, are you polite? You came over and slammed the table. What, you think you're so impressive?" Sonoko Suzuki said irritably.
"Kazuha, how did you end up knowing such an awful guy? He's even worse than Shinichi Kudo," Sonoko Suzuki couldn't help saying to Kazuha Toyama.
