Shadow Possession Technique

Su Yu's expression changed slightly when he heard the voice.

During the Genin exam, Mizuki had sat beside Iruka.

Su Yu was naturally familiar with his voice.

Mizuki was wearing a Chunin uniform.

A giant shuriken was strapped to his back.

Su Yu knew a fight was inevitable.

"Teacher Mizuki, you're finally here. I..."

Naruto Uzumaki started walking toward Mizuki, but Su Yu stopped him.

"Su Yu-kun?" Naruto asked, looking at him in confusion.

"Naruto, was he the one who told you to steal the Scroll of Sealing?" Su Yu asked.

"Y-yes... Teacher Mizuki told me..."

"Naruto, thanks for stealing the Scroll of Sealing for me. To thank you, I'll make your death quick." Mizuki's smile twisted as he took the giant shuriken off his back.

"Teacher Mizuki..." Naruto stared at him in disbelief.

"Naruto, did you learn it?" Su Yu asked quietly.

Naruto came to his senses and nodded.

"I'll restrain him. You attack." Su Yu formed a hand seal.

His shadow stretched out and connected with Mizuki's.

Mizuki's body stiffened. He glanced at the connected shadows, his pupils shrinking.

"You... How do you know the Shadow Possession Technique?"

"Naruto, it's your turn." Su Yu didn't answer Mizuki. He channeled all his chakra into restraining him.

"Multi Shadow Clone Technique!" Naruto shouted, invoking the ninjutsu that would stay with him for the rest of his life.

The next second,

thousands of Narutos appeared.

Mizuki's eyes widened.

"Naruto, he used you to steal the Scroll of Sealing. He might be planning to sell it to another village. If we take him down, maybe Lord Hokage will forgive us." Su Yu raised his voice.

Naruto's eyes lit up. He immediately understood what Su Yu meant.

He clenched his fists and stared at Mizuki.

All his Shadow Clones copied his movements.

Mizuki forced a strained smile.

"Su Yu-kun, Naruto-kun, I was only joking with you..."

Naruto didn't hesitate. He charged forward with his Shadow Clones.

Su Yu kept Mizuki firmly restrained.

For a while, Mizuki's screams were the only sounds among Naruto's Shadow Clones.

By the time all the clones dispersed, Mizuki was lying on the ground, barely alive.

Su Yu didn't release his hold. In fact, he was even considering taking the chance to kill Mizuki.

Just then,

a figure landed nearby.

"Teacher Iruka!" both of them exclaimed.

It was Iruka.

He looked around at the scene, utterly baffled.

Why was Mizuki lying there, badly injured?

Why could Su Yu use the Shadow Possession Technique?

Why were two students beating up their teacher together?

"Teacher Iruka, Mizuki used Naruto to steal the Scroll of Sealing. I ran into Naruto while eating at Ichiraku Ramen. I was worried about him, so I followed him. I never expected to see him carrying the Scroll of Sealing here.

"Then Teacher Mizuki showed up. He wanted to kill Naruto and me and take the Scroll of Sealing. I suspect he's planning to sell it to another village." Su Yu spoke quickly.

"What did you say?!" Iruka exclaimed in shock.

Then he looked at Mizuki, who was in a sorry state.

"Teacher Iruka, please check whether he's pretending. I can't be sure, so I don't dare release him just yet." Su Yu spoke seriously.

"..." Iruka.

Could anyone really fake that?

An hour later.

The Hokage Office.

"I'm sorry, Grandpa Third. I stole the Scroll of Sealing without permission." Naruto's face was full of remorse.

"Lord Hokage, I looked through the Scroll of Sealing. Please punish me." Su Yu bowed.

"Lord Hokage, this all happened because Mizuki tricked Naruto. That's why Naruto stole the Scroll of Sealing," Iruka explained.

The Third Hokage looked at the three of them and fell silent.

After a long while,

he stood up.

"Naruto, you've admitted your mistake and, together with Su Yu-kun, defeated Mizuki and brought back the Scroll of Sealing. I'll forgive you this time. Su Yu-kun, although you looked through the Scroll of Sealing, your actions are understandable. And you helped Naruto defeat Mizuki, so I'll forgive you as well."

"Thank you, Grandpa Third."

"Thank you, Lord Hokage."

Naruto and Su Yu spoke at the same time.

"Iruka, do you think Naruto is qualified to become a Genin?" The Third Hokage turned to Iruka.

Iruka was taken aback.

Naruto looked at him expectantly.

Su Yu also watched Iruka.

"I think Naruto is absolutely qualified to become a Genin of Konoha," Iruka said softly.

"Teacher Iruka!" Naruto looked at him with excitement.

"Congratulations, Naruto," Su Yu said.

"It's getting late. Iruka, take them home. As for the Scroll of Sealing, let's put the matter to rest. Mizuki will be sent to Konoha Prison." The Third Hokage smiled at the three of them.

"Yes, Lord Hokage." Iruka bowed.

Naruto and Su Yu did the same.

The three of them left the Hokage Office.

As they walked down the street,

Iruka remembered what Su Yu had done.

Where had Su Yu learned the Shadow Possession Technique?

It was a secret technique of the Nara Clan. If they learned that an outsider had mastered it, they would surely question Su Yu.

Of course, Su Yu's parents had been Anbu Ninja serving the Hokage, so even the Nara Clan couldn't do anything to him. There was probably no need to worry.

Still, Su Yu's ability to use the Shadow Possession Technique was no small matter.

Iruka glanced at the two of them and decided to discuss it with Su Yu privately.

First, he took Naruto home.

Then Iruka walked with Su Yu.

"Teacher Iruka, I know you want to ask how I learned the Shadow Possession Technique. Honestly, I'm puzzled about it myself," Su Yu said first.

"Hm?" Iruka was stunned.

"I know it's a secret technique of the Nara Clan. When I was sorting through my parents' belongings, I found instructions for practicing the Shadow Possession Technique. After I learned it, I burned the instructions. I've also tried to avoid using the technique. Today was a special case; if I hadn't used it, I might have been killed." Su Yu lowered his head.

"I see." Iruka understood.

Su Yu's parents had been Anbu members, so it made sense that they might have had the instructions for the Shadow Possession Technique.

They probably hadn't expected their child to learn it, though.

"Teacher Iruka, did I do something wrong?" Su Yu looked up at Iruka, a hint of fear in his eyes.

"Su Yu-kun, you did nothing wrong. I'll tell Lord Hokage tomorrow. Once he steps in, the Nara Clan will surely accept the situation." Iruka smiled.

"Thank you, Teacher Iruka." Su Yu's expression relaxed.

In truth, he knew the Nara Clan wouldn't pursue the matter.

He'd only said that so Iruka would give him a clear answer.

Once the Third Hokage found out, he'd surely consider Su Yu a talent.
