Bitterbridge Camp, King's Camp.
Renly Baratheon, like his brother Robert I, loved luxury, or rather, he habitually imitated his brother.
His tent was larger than the lobby of a typical hotel, and it was filled with all sorts of luxury goods.
Renly, who was standing in front of the table, turned his head and was stunned when he saw who it was. His pupils then contracted sharply.
He murmured, " Loras?"
The Knight of Flowers remained silent as he slowly approached King Renly, who seemed frozen in place.
The candlelight flickered, and the Knight of Flowers and Lord Renly stood face to face, silently for a long time.
King Renly's hand trembled as he gently stroked the cheek of " Knight of Flowers," his expression gradually turning sorrowful.
His voice was gentle. "I miss Loras very much... Thank you, my Queen."
She whispered, "I would do anything for you, my king."
Renly gazed at Margaery Tyrell, who was dressed as Loras. The siblings looked alike, and the joy that welled up in his heart upon seeing her was indescribable, but she was not him after all.
King Renly gently patted Margaery's small shoulder, his gaze filled with deep emotion; he was looking at someone else through Margaery.
After giving Margaery a long look, Renly turned away, his back to her, and said calmly, " Queen Margaery, I will keep my promise; you will always be my Queen."
Margaery's eyes trembled slightly, and her fingers curled slightly.
Renly continued, seemingly to himself, "When Selmy left King's Landing, he swore to continue serving the true king. I thought he would come to me, but he seems to have vanished; no one knows where he went. Brienne's cloak was originally meant for Selmy... Margaery, do you think he might have gone to Dragonstone?"
Margaery reached out and hugged Renly, pressing her face against his broad back.
Renly's body stiffened, Margaery quickly released him. "My Majesty, you need an heir."
As she spoke, Margaery walked lightly to Renly and continued, "By day I can be your Queen, and by night I can be my brother."
Margaery's moist eyes were fixed on Renly, who maintained a calm expression, as she murmured, "I'll become more and more like him."
As Margaery finished speaking, Renly seemed somewhat moved.
She continued, "For you, I'm willing."
Renly suddenly hugged Margaery, his movements a little rough, and her lower back hit the edge of the table, but Little Rose stared at him intently, showing no sign of pain.
Renly lowered his head, and Margaery gently closed her eyes.
Time passed, but Margaery did not receive the tenderness she had expected. Renly suddenly released Margaery and took a step back.
Renly managed to say with difficulty, "I... can't do it."
Margaery's gaze remained gentle as she looked at him, revealing no other negative emotions, which secretly relieved Renly.
A hint of apology appeared on Little Rose's face. "Your Majesty, your vassals are all waiting for a child born of the union of Baratheon and Tyrell blood. As your Queen, I don't have many choices."
After a pause, Little Rose stepped closer, looked up at Renly, and said, "I only want to help you, my king."
Margaery's hand slowly touched Renly's chest, and Renly's body stiffened again.
"I have another idea," Little Rose said, naturally withdrawing her hand.
Renly's relaxed expression tightened again. "Please give me some time, Margaery."
Margaery didn't insist. She smiled charmingly and nodded slightly. She turned away from Renly, seemingly very interested in the map on the table.
Upon seeing Margaery's retreating figure, Renly's Adam's apple bobbed, but he quickly regained his composure.
Margaery looked at the map with "enthusiasm" for a while, but inwardly she sighed, feeling powerless to do anything about it.
Margaery smoothed her light brown, curly hair, turned around, and smiled, saying, "Your Majesty, I'll be going back now. You should get some rest too."
Just as Margaery was about to leave, Renly suddenly said, " Queen Margaery, once I sit on the Iron Throne, you will have children, I promise."
Margaery stopped in her tracks, her face beaming with a smile, and gave a slight Renly: "I look forward to that day. Thank you, my king."
Outside the tent, the moonlight, like water, illuminated every corner of the camp.
Margaery looked up at the night sky, where the stars, like bright pearls, shimmered with a faint but determined light.
After a while, Margaery withdrew her gaze, lifted her skirt with both hands, and began to walk, her maids and guards crowding around her.
Golden Rose Camp.
After Margaery entered her tent, she saw Lady Olenna sitting in a leather folding chair.
"Grandma," Little Rose called out.
Lady Olenna looked at her granddaughter with her cloudy eyes, then beckoned, "My Margaery, come here quickly."
Little Rose ran off as she had when she was little, her frail grandmother bringing her peace of mind.
"Sit, sit."
Margaery took her grandmother's hand and sat down.
Lady Olenna patted Margaery's hand and said, "My Margaery, you know what you want. You are much smarter than I was back then... When I was young, I was completely infatuated with my idiotic husband, thinking I was the happiest woman, and willingly helped Tyrell."
Lady Olenna paused for a moment, then continued, "Just like our Lord Boar is doing now for the handsome king, he's pretending to be the bride."
Margaery, who was listening attentively, couldn't help but purse her lips.
Lady Olenna patted Margaery's hand again and said, "My idiot husband fell off a cliff while falconry. When I asked him why, they told me he was staring at the sky and didn't pay any attention to the horse below. He just can't see things clearly!"
She sighed and continued, "My Margaery, you're just like me; you've also encountered a husband who can't see things clearly."
Margaery quickly spoke up, as if to assure her, "Grandmother, I will conceive Renly's heir, and he just promised me..."
As she spoke, Margaery stopped talking, her expression slightly uneasy.
Lady Olenna asked, "What has the handsome king promised this time? Tell me."
Margaery looked into her grandmother's eyes. "He promised that once he sits on the Iron Throne, he will make me pregnant."
Grandmother asked kindly, "My Margaery, have you noticed something?"
Margaery hesitated for a moment, then admitted, "I'm worried he won't be able to keep his promise."
Lady Olenna said angrily, "After the Lord Boar put the crown on Lord Renly, does he think he can lead the Golden Rose by the nose?"
The Queen of Thorns was furious. "Only a fool would believe a man's words!"
She paused, then added, "You can't trust a woman's tongue either, my Margaery."
Margaery reassured her, "Grandmother, I'll handle it. Please trust me."
The old woman doesn't need comforting.
Lady Olenna continued, " The Golden Rose never relinquishes the initiative."
