Tyrion looked up at Chairman Hallyne and said, "Yes, that's good news. ♡♢ 👌💢"
Chairman Hallyne reiterated, " Your Lord Hand, my brothers would never be careless..."
He paused, chuckled, and continued, "However, if you would allow me to tell you the truth..."
Tyrion's gaze shifted to the Wildfire pot, and he casually said, "Ah, please."
President Hallyne chuckled again and said, " Wildfire flows in our blood, resides in the heart of every Pyromancer... We revere its power, but ordinary soldiers... often get carried away in battle, only wanting to fight... However, even the smallest mistake can lead to disaster... Here, I must emphasize this again and again. My father repeatedly reminded King Aerys ( the Mad King ), and my grandfather also said the same thing to King Jaehaerys ( the Mad King's father)."
Tyrion rubbed his chin and said, "I suppose... this would be a welcome suggestion; nobody wants to be a delicious roast meat."
Hehehe...
Ignoring Chairman Hallyne's lewd laughter, Tyrion picked up an empty jar from the corner and pondered, "Do we have enough materials to make these round jars?"
Chairman Hallyne nodded and said, "It's more than enough. Thank you for your concern, Your Lord Hand."
Tyrion grinned. "In that case, you wouldn't mind making a few thousand more, would you?"
Chairman Hallyne asked doubtfully, "Several thousand?"
Tyrion set the empty cans aside and said, "Give us as many of these empty cans as you can, as long as it doesn't affect the process of making the 'fruit'."
He clapped his hands and continued, "Remember to keep this a secret. I'll have Sir Jacelyn Bywater ( the Commander of the Gold Cloaks ) look for you."
"Yes, Your Lord Hand."
Chairman Hallyne nodded in agreement, then paused, asking in confusion, "But... why...?"
Tyrion smiled slightly at the wise man of Hallyne and said, "It's really cold in here. Remind me to wear more next time... My wise man, I've had my fill of looking at you. Would you please see me out?"
"Hehehe, I would be more than happy to, Your Lord Hand." Chairman Hallyne raised an oil lamp and led the way.
As he walked, he said, " Hand of the King Tyrion, it's wonderful that you could visit in person. It's a great honor for us... hehehe. It's been a long time since Hand of the King has visited. The last one was Lord Rossart, who was a member of our guild... When King Aerys was in power, he was always very interested in the Alchemists' Guild."
Rossart was the Grand Master of the Alchemists' Guild during the reign of Aerys II. He was responsible for roasting Lord Rickard Stark Lord Stark ( Ned's father). He was killed by Jaime Lannister during the Sack of King's Landing.
Tyrion grinned. "I'm sure King Joffrey will also be paying close attention. 🐉💎 ♛👻"
He added to himself: Joffrey always liked to fight to the death when dealing with petitions in the Throne Room, and he didn't want that brat to get his hands on burning people alive.
So... we can't let them get close to my good nephew... well, he doesn't have the courage to serve the Mad King.
Guild Master Hallyne flattered, "We sincerely hope that His Majesty will also grace our guild with his presence."
Tyrion shrugged. "I'll discuss this with my sister."
His legs ached from the trip to the Alchemists' Guild, and he awkwardly mounted his horse with the help of his squire.
The warm morning light instantly lifted Tyrion's spirits, even as he thought of the "surprise" he had prepared for Stannis.
He sang softly: On the haystack—a woman is being kissed... Hey—no... Hey—no...
Tyrion Lannister hadn't even enjoyed his good mood for long when the Tower of the Hand's Steward rushed to bring him a "surprise" regarding Stannis.
Stannis launched a surprise attack on the Golden Rose's Bitterbridge camp, suddenly gaining tens of thousands of infantrymen at his command!
Tyrion's voice held a hint of complaint. "Very well, I'm now quite certain that Stannis will never forgive the Lannister."
Bronn, standing to the side, chuckled and said, "My lord, I can't be sure about others, but you certainly won't escape."
Tyrion shrugged his little shoulders and said, "To be honest, I've actually grown to like Stannis a little. He's done what I've fantasized about so many times."
After a moment's hesitation, Tyrion beckoned to the young Steward from the Westerlands and said, "Hey, tell my sister, the Queen Mother, about this good news later."
His tone shifted, and he said seriously, "This is very important, we need to hurry!"
Upon hearing this, the young Steward nodded emphatically and immediately rode away.
Tyrion gazed in the direction the Steward had left, grinning, "Sibling fun! I'm such a good brother, and I'm proud of my sister."
After laughing for a while, Tyrion said, "Let's go. It seems we need to speed things up."
King's Landing, Mud Gate ( Mud Gate ).
Tyrion found Ser Jacelyn on the city wall, watching hundreds of Gold Cloaks recruits drilling in the square below.
Tyrion waved casually at the Commander of the Gold Cloaks was bowing to him, and said, "How are they, my sergeant?"
As he spoke, he looked down.
Ser Jacelyn began, "They joined for a loaf of bread and a straw bed, Tyrion Hand of the King."
King's Landing only had 6,000 Gold Cloaks, not even enough to defend the walls, Tyrion to expand his army as much as possible despite food shortages.
Tyrion had no illusions about how much fighting power these newly recruited "refugees" would have once the war began.
But... at least it can help him stabilize the hearts of the people in King's Landing.
Tyrion withdrew his gaze from below and said, "Sir, I know time is short, so I won't make unreasonable demands on you."
Ser Jacelyn turned to Tyrion, hesitated for a moment, and said, " Hand of the King Tyrion, they are tenderer than spring grass, but no one wants to be seen as a coward. So when war breaks out, when the horns are blaring and the flags are flying, they will fight bravely... but if things turn sour, they will crumble and flee. One man throws down his spear, and a thousand will follow suit."
Tyrion's eyes trembled slightly... Tywin Lannister... His kind father often taught him that guards are not soldiers, and the Gold Cloaks were doing the job of guards.
Now, Tyrion hopes that another of the Old Lion's maxims will be proven true. "From a high vantage point, one can take on ten."
Seeing Tyrion's silence, Ser Jacelyn continued, " My Lord Hand, I will fight to the end."
Tyrion immediately snapped out of his reverie, patted Ser Jacelyn's strong thigh, and said, "Military merit is a good thing. I'll get you an Earl sometime."
Ser Jacelyn bowed solemnly, placing his hand on his chest.
Tyrion stretched, paused, and said, "I have two things to do today. First, get some round clay pots from the Alchemists' Guild as soon as possible. Then, use those pots to train the soldiers operating the ballistae. Fill the pots with green pigment and practice loading and firing. Anyone who spills the pigment should be removed. Once the soldiers are familiar with the pigment pots, modify the lamp oil and have them light the oil canisters first before firing. Once they can use them skillfully without harming themselves... then they can use the Alchemists' Guild ' Wildfire in battle."
" Wildfire? That's a dangerous thing. Your training methods are excellent."
Ser Jacelyn scratched his cheek with his iron hand, then said, "However, I have no liking for alchemists' excrement."
Tyrion put his hands behind his back and said, "But this excrement will strengthen King's Landing's defenses, and perhaps even bring you honor, my sergeant."
"Yes, Your Excellency. I will arrange things as you command, my Lord Hand."
Tyrion nodded in satisfaction and said, "The second thing... come with me."
Tyrion walked to the other side of the city wall and called Bronn, who was standing not far away, over.
On the other side of the city wall was the direction of the dock. Tyrion craned his neck to look at the buildings below the city wall. They were clinging to the wall like seashells attached to a ship. Among them were bait tanks, canteens, warehouses, shops, taverns, and cheap brothels.
He pointed down and said, "See that? With these things, I think Stannis won't even need to build a ladder."
Tyrion shrank back and looked at Bronn, a mercenary by trade Ser Jacelyn's personality wasn't suited to what was to come, but he could keep the unruly mercenaries in check.
He began, "My captain of the guard, tomorrow organize a hundred men to burn everything from the riverbank to the city wall."
He waved his short, stubby fingers. "Nothing is allowed to stand in your field of vision. My requirement is absolute cleanliness, understand?"
Bronn surveyed the building below for a moment and said, "My lord, the people living inside won't be very happy."
Tyrion said in a deep voice, "They can't be happy now, which gives them a new reason to curse their the Imp Hand of the King."
Bronn raised another question, "Some people will rebel; they won't just obediently listen."
Tyrion gestured to Ser Jacelyn standing to the side and said, "Ser Ironhand will make sure they fail."
Bronn spread his hands and said, "My lord, one last question: what are your plans for the residents here?"
Tyrion looked down at the crowd and said, "Give them enough time to move their possessions, then take everything. My captain of the guard, try to avoid bloodshed; they are not the enemy."
"Yes, Your Excellency."
After giving a few more instructions, Tyrion prepared to leave, as he still needed to summon the Smith of King's Landing to the Tower of the Hand that day.
At this moment, Ser Jacelyn suddenly said, " Hand of the King Tyrion, the dozen or so captains of the requisitioned ships are protesting to me every day."
Tyrion stopped in his tracks, puzzled. "Why would they be looking for you? Don't they know where the Tower of the Hand is?"
Bronn answered the question with a grin, "The king has ordered that if any 'mob' approaches the Red Keep, they should be shot on sight."
"Ah, my nephew, the king, gains his favor in a rather unusual way."
Tyrion looked at Ser Jacelyn and continued, "I promised them reparations for the war, but clearly they're not at ease."
Ser Jacelyn stated directly, "Those captains are worried we will be defeated."
Tyrion grinned. "Then I can conveniently pass on the matter of reparations to their King Stannis."
Tyrion returned to the Tower of the Hand without stopping, first changing his clothes in his bedroom: a black velvet coat, a deep red silk cloak with gold trim, and a gold Hand of the King necklace.
After finishing a glass of fine wine, Tyrion, surrounded by his Steward and guards, headed towards the drawing room.
The door opened, and a servant announced, "Welcome, Hand of the King Tyrion Lannister, Hand of the King!"
Everyone in the hall knelt down. Tyrion slightly raised, walked slowly past. He... had to admit, he had long since fallen in love with this feeling; it was captivating.
Tyrion climbed to the high seat beneath the golden round window, first gesturing for them to rise, then said, "Gentlemen, I know you are all busy, so I will not waste any more words."
He gestured to the young servant. " Pod, thank you."
Podrick nodded, untied the drawstring, and emptied the contents of the canvas bag, the metal making a muffled clattering sound as it hit the blanket.
Tyrion glanced at the group of the Smith and said, "These are the ones I ordered the Smith of the Red Keep to make. I need a thousand more of these."
As soon as he finished speaking, a the Smith bent down and carefully examined the three thick, twisted steel chains, saying, "Extremely rigid chains."
Tyrion shrugged and said, "It's tough as it is, but unfortunately it's short like mine. The finished product I want is much longer."
He looked at the first the Smith who stepped forward and asked, "What's your name?"
The Smith was dressed in ordinary wool and leather clothing. He was not tall, but very burly, with arms as thick as a bull's neck.
The Smith replied, "Your Excellency, the Hand of the King, is known as Ironbelly."
Tyrion nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping over the crowd, and said, "I want every blacksmith in King's Landing to begin forging these chains and stringing them together. Put aside all other work; I want everyone who knows how to forge to be involved in this, whether they've completed their apprenticeship or not. When I ride through the Street of Steel, I want to hear the hammers striking day and night."
"I need someone else, a capable person, to oversee this matter..."
Tyrion looked at Ironbelly the Smith again and continued, " Ironbelly, do you think you're that kind of person?"
"My lord, even if I were willing..."
After a pause, Ironbelly continued, "But what about the armor and swords that the Empress Dowager wants?"
Another the Smith chimed in, "The Empress Dowager has ordered us to expedite the production of armor, swords, and axes. The quantity is enormous, supposedly for the new recruits in the Gold Cloaks, sir."
Another the Smith stepped forward, nervously saying, "Sir, please forgive me, but the Empress Dowager's order is that whoever fails to complete the work on time will have their hands smashed."
Tyrion wanted to facepalm. Cersei's way of gaining affection was quite unique; she and Joffrey were truly mother and son.
Tyrion solemnly declared, "Make the chains first. What you fear will not happen. I assure you, this is the promise of the Hand of the King, the Gods are my witness."
The Reach, Longtable Hall.
Gryn Crabb patted his chest and said, "I'm so glad to see you safe and sound, Margaery..."
As he spoke, Gryn blinked, seemingly troubled by what to call him.
Margaery Tyrell curled her fingers and smiled radiantly, " Lord Gryn, I like it when you call me Miss Margaery."
