Background / History

Mobius’s childhood ended amid medicine, filth, and hysteria. Seeing her father lose his human dignity to medication shaped her conviction that humanity’s weakness—not morality or fate—was the root cause of suffering. Her lifelong objective became the evolution of humanity into an enduring, “beautiful” form capable of reaching the “Infinite” of life. 223 719

Before becoming MOTH’s feared researcher, Mobius was a skilled surgeon. Failing to save a patient left her with lasting fear and self-doubt, though she continued to maintain an outwardly cheerful or composed façade. 469

As an original Flame-Chaser designated CM-003, Mobius developed the biological foundations of MOTH’s human-enhancement programs. She proposed that, because Herrschers originate from humans, humans might be remade into beings capable of wielding comparable power. Her research included Honkai Beast fusion, Hypervariable Surgery, genetic modification, and Artificial Collapse. 25 26 111 383

Mobius became interested in Lin after arranging for his physical examination to be conducted in her laboratory. Although his physical abilities were extraordinary, his extremely low Honkai Energy Adaptability led her to initially dismiss him as a fragile “glass cannon.” 2 786

After Lin lost an arm, Mobius provided a cloned and regenerated replacement limb along with experimental medicine. Their arrangement began as a transaction: Lin offered his combat ability and future cooperation, while Mobius gained an unusually resilient subject whose body and consciousness continually defied her expectations. 10 11 27

Mobius is a green-haired woman usually seen in a white laboratory coat. Her refined appearance contrasts sharply with the unease her gaze and reputation inspire in other MOTH personnel. 25 44

Her philosophy rejects reliance on medicine and human frailty. Mobius believes humanity must become stronger rather than accept weakness, disease, and death; this belief allows her to rationalize extreme methods such as gene fusion and Artificial Collapse research. 223 376 719

Despite her professed indifference, Mobius is emotionally affected by those close to her. She grieves Bianca, Klein, and other losses, becomes jealous of Aponia and Mei’s connections to Lin, and repeatedly shows concern for Lin’s survival beneath anger and mockery. 297 457 475 476
