The Boys' Moment to Shine
Yun Jingheng placed the box on the table, opened the lid, and his silver-gray suit gleamed subtly under the room's lighting.
Xie Xie stopped eating the apple, his eyes widening in disbelief. "This... this is yours?"
"Or is it yours?"
"Sea Cloud Silk...? Do you know how expensive this stuff is?"
Yun Jingheng thought for a moment, then shook his head. "I don't know, but my sheets and duvet cover seem to be made of this material."
Xie Xie nearly dropped the apple core in his hand, staring wide-eyed at Yun Jingheng, his lips trembling slightly, "Bed sheets? You call Sea Cloud Silk a bed sheet?"
Yun Jingheng had already taken the coat out of the box, held it up to himself, and nodded casually, "Yeah, my bed sheets and duvet covers are all made of this material, it's smooth and comfortable to sleep in."
Xie Xie a deep breath, turned to look at Tang Wulin, his eyes filled with "Is this guy showing off his wealth?"
Tang Wulin shrugged, his face saying, "Don't look at me, I can't help it."
What kind of family do you come from?
Xie Xie tossed the apple core precisely into the trash can, turned around, put his hands on his hips, and said, "Using Sea Cloud Silk for bed sheets? Do you know how much a piece of Sea Cloud Silk clothing can sell for outside?"
Yun Jingheng thought for a moment, "I don't know, I haven't cared."
"You didn't care?"
"My dad prepared it; I don't care about these things."
Yun Jingheng took off his coat and began trying on the silver-gray, off-white suit.
Xie Xie watched as he put on that priceless suit, not a single button fastened, leaving it open. The Dragon Scale Cufflinks on the cuffs reflected a shimmering light under the lamplight, and the man standing there looked exactly like someone who had stepped out of a painting.
Xie Xie suddenly didn't want to talk anymore.
Tang Wulin laughed from the side, "Alright, Xie Xie, comparing yourself to him is just asking for trouble. Go change your clothes, the ones Yuan En just gave you."
Upon hearing Yuan En, Xie Xie's lips immediately curled up. He rushed to the bedside, picked up the paper bag, and carefully pulled out the dark blue casual suit inside.
The fabric feels smooth and delicate to the touch. Although it's not the same level as Sea Cloud Silk, it's definitely a good product.
"Yuan En has excellent taste," Xie Xie said smugly as he changed his clothes.
Yun Jingheng stood in front of the mirror, looking at the person in it.
The silver-gray suit gleamed faintly under the light, not with a ostentatious shine, but with a restrained, understated quality, like moonlight falling on snow.
He reached up and tugged at his collar, revealing a small patch of skin below his collarbone, then nodded in satisfaction.
Tang Wulin had also changed into a black suit. He straightened his cuffs in front of the mirror, then glanced back at Yun Jingheng. "What color dress do you think Gu Yue will wear?"
Yun Jingheng's fingers paused for a moment, then he continued adjusting his cufflinks as if nothing had happened. "I don't know, but Xie Xie looks like an insurance salesman."
Xie Xie admiring himself in the mirror when he heard this and suddenly turned around. "An insurance salesman? You call this an insurance salesman?"
Yun Jingheng leaned against the wall, hands in his pockets, his gaze lazily sweeping over him from head to toe. "Dark blue suit, white shirt, shiny leather shoes, and a briefcase tucked into his hand—he looks every bit the insurance salesman."
"This is a casual style!"
Xie Xie panicked, tugging at his collar, "Look at this cut, this fabric, this—this waistline!"
"Nice waistline," Yun Jingheng nodded, adding a comment.
"But you still sound like an insurance salesman."
Tang Wulin, standing to the side, finally couldn't help but burst out laughing.
Xie Xie turned angrily to Tang Wulin, "Wulin, say something fair!"
Tang Wulin suppressed a laugh, looked Xie Xie up and down, and carefully considered his words, "Hmm... like one of the more handsome insurance salesmen."
"You two--"
Xie Xie a deep breath, deciding not to stoop to their level. He lowered his head and continued adjusting his cuffs, muttering to himself, "When Yuan En sees me in this, he'll definitely think it looks good."
"I think she'd also think you're an insurance salesman."
"Waaaaah, I'll fight you to the death!" Xie Xie charged forward angrily.
After laughing and joking around for a while, Yun Jingheng finally looked at his half-long hair in the mirror and fell into deep thought.
"Would you like me to braid a little braid for you?"
Tang Wulin had somehow appeared behind Yun Jingheng, reaching out to pick up a strand of half-length black hair from his shoulder. He ran his thumb and forefinger down the strand, saying, "I've braided hair for my mother before, it's not difficult."
Yun Jingheng watched Tang Wulin's actions in the mirror. He didn't dodge, but his eyebrows twitched slightly. "You're using me as a guinea pig?"
"Then you'll have someone else write it?" Tang Wulin asked with a half-smile.
Yun Jingheng imagined the scene of Gu Yue, Ye Xinglan, and Xu Xiaoyan all reaching for his hair at the same time, and decisively shook his head, "You do it."
Xie Xie completely forgot about the fight, moved a chair to the side, rested his chin on his hands, and looked on expectantly.
Tang Wulin divided Yun Jingheng's hair into three sections, his fingers flying across the page; his movements were not particularly skilled, but they were methodical.
His fingertips occasionally brushed against the back of Yun Jingheng's neck, feeling slightly cool and with a calloused texture.
"Don't let your hands shake," Yun Jingheng said.
"I wasn't shaking."
"Then why is my scalp twitching?"
"Because you're talking."
Xie Xie chuckled beside him.
The braid wasn't particularly elaborate, with a small wisp of hair sticking out from the side, but overall it looked clean and neat, making Yun Jingheng's already well-defined face appear even more three-dimensional.
Tang Wulin gently placed the braided hair in front of his shoulder, took a step back to look at it, and nodded in satisfaction.
"How is it?" Tang Wulin asked.
Yun Jingheng glanced at himself in the mirror.
His medium-length black hair was gathered into a loose braid that hung over his left shoulder, with a few stray strands falling beside his ear. Paired with his silver-gray suit, he transformed from a "lazy young nobleman" into a "laid-back artist."
He paused for two seconds, then said, "... It's alright."
The sound of three people's footsteps echoed in the corridor, neither too loud nor too soft.
Xie Xie walking in front, and just as he turned the corner, he suddenly stopped.
At the other end of the corridor, Yuanen Yehui was leaning against the door of the girls' room. Her slender figure was wrapped in a deep purple dress, and her hair was tied up with a silver hairpin, revealing her long neck.
She looked up when she heard footsteps, her gaze first falling on Xie Xie, who was wearing a dark blue suit, a white shirt, and shiny leather shoes.
Yuanen Yehui frowned and looked at it for two seconds before saying, "Looks like an insurance salesman."
Xie Xie's face instantly fell. "I knew they were doing it on purpose! Even you—"
Yuan En smiled and looked at Yun Jingheng's braid, "You have this skill too?"
"The craftsmanship is poor."
Tang Wulin smiled and waved his hand, gesturing with his chin towards Yun Jingheng, "It's just that he's good-looking; he can make anything sound plausible."
Yun Jingheng glanced at him expressionlessly, "When did you learn to talk like that?"
"I learned it from you." Tang Wulin said without changing his expression.
Xie Xie, still reeling from the shock of being "sold insurance," tugged at Yuanen Yehui's sleeve, his voice tinged with grievance.
"Yuan En, you said I sound like an insurance salesman. Do you like insurance salesmen?"
Yuanen Yehui glanced at him, then expressionlessly pulled her sleeve back. "I don't like it."
