"I am a descendant of a ninja clan that fled the Land of Fire. My kin offended a powerful noble, who hired ninjas from the Fuma Clan to slaughter our entire clan. Only I managed to escape with the help of my clansmen."
In the end, Asuma chose not to reveal his true situation to Kakashi, opting instead to fabricate an excuse on the spot.
Konoha is the officially recognized ninja organization of the Land of Fire, but it is not the only ninja power within the country. Outside of Konoha, there exist several ninja clans or small hidden villages with mediocre strength but unique, inherited traditions.
This was the foundation of the lie Asuma had concocted.
"Then how did you recognize me?" Kakashi continued to press.
"I once followed my elders to Konoha and saw you there. I know you are a genius of Konoha's new generation," Asuma explained with lightning-fast reflexes.
Kakashi's sharp gaze bored into Asuma's eyes. After scrutinizing him for several seconds, he finally shifted the kunai in his hand slightly.
"Kakashi, ask him for his clan's surname," Sakumo's voice echoed in Kakashi's mind.
Kakashi interrogated him: "What is your true surname?"
"Takeda. My real name is Takeda Kazusuke." Asuma secretly rejoiced that back home, he had spent time in the old man's study, sneaking peeks at intelligence reports on foreign ninjas collected by the village.
Hearing the surname Asuma provided, Sakumo felt a sense of familiarity. After careful recollection, he recalled some intelligence.
"The Takeda Clan, I have heard of them. Like our Hatake Clan, their ancestors were once prestigious samurai families under the daimyo.
Later, as ninjas rose and the samurai declined, we had no choice but to begin practicing chakra to survive.
I never expected that their clan would be wiped out to this day!"
Sakumo's voice, filled with a touch of emotion, resonated in Kakashi's mind.
Upon hearing this, Kakashi lowered his kunai, though he did not fully trust Asuma. He continued to pursue the matter with vigilance: "If you come from a ninja clan, why haven't you undergone any ninja training?"
Asuma did not answer immediately. Instead, he looked up at the sky at a 45-degree angle, a look of hatred surfacing in his eyes. With a masterful display of acting, he said, "As you can see, my body is very weak; it is simply not suited for becoming a ninja. My parents also didn't want me to live my life amidst the bloodshed of ninjas."
Kakashi nodded, "Your aptitude is indeed very poor."
Asuma felt a tightness in his chest and looked at Kakashi angrily: "If you don't know how to talk, shut your mouth!"
"Do you want revenge? Do you want to use the Akatsuki to avenge yourself?" Kakashi ignored Asuma's dissatisfaction.
"I don't! I am not a villain who forgets a kindness. Konan saved me, and I remain in the Akatsuki partly to repay her, and partly to have a place to stay," Asuma said excitedly.
Kakashi looked at Asuma, observing his agitated expression, and temporarily chose to believe his words.
"I will believe you for now."
Asuma widened his eyes and said indignantly, "What do you mean 'for now'? And you, a Konoha ninja, why are you infiltrating the Akatsuki? Aren't you afraid that I..."
Before Asuma could finish his sentence, the sharp kunai in Kakashi's hand was already pointed at his throat.
"What are you doing?" Asuma quickly took a step back.
"If you dare to reveal my identity, I will kill you," Kakashi threatened coldly.
Asuma looked at Kakashi with deep resentment, feeling that if it weren't for his current body dragging him down, he would never be bullied like this by a jerk like Kakashi.
"Aren't you afraid that after I agree, I'll secretly tell Konan later?"
Kakashi withdrew his right hand and looked at Asuma with the gaze one might reserve for an idiot.
"You bastard! What kind of look is that?" Asuma said unhappily.
"A piece of advice," Kakashi said with a sincere tone.
"What?"
"Let go of your hatred. Don't think about revenge anymore."
"Why?"
Kakashi looked at Asuma with pity, "With your aptitude and intelligence, going after revenge will only lead to the total extinction of the Takeda Clan."
"You!" Asuma was absolutely furious.
"Follow me." Ignoring Asuma's anger, Kakashi turned and walked away.
"What are you doing?" Asuma asked, confused.
"If you keep my identity a secret, I will guide your training. This is your only chance for revenge."
Before his words had even faded, Kakashi was already far away.
"That stuck-up bastard!" Asuma looked at Kakashi's retreating back and curled his lip in annoyance.
Kakashi walked alone in the front, while in his consciousness, he continued to communicate with his father, Sakumo.
"Kakashi, I will continue to keep an eye on this boy for the next few days. If he does anything suspicious, I will stop him immediately."
"Kakashi, let me help too!" Rin, who had been by Kakashi's side for the past few days without being able to do much, couldn't help but speak up.
Kakashi intended to refuse, but looking at the young girl flying out of the ring with a look of longing, he truly couldn't bear to turn down his teammate's good intentions.
"Then I'll leave it to you, Rin."
Having received her mission, Rin smiled happily, stretching her hands out in front of her and clenching them into fists, looking like a cute hamster.
"I will do my best, Kakashi!"
Sakumo flew behind Kakashi, watching the interaction between his son and the girl, a smile overflowing on his face that he could not suppress.
So good, Kakashi!
Hiruzen Sarutobi's situation was dire!
Although he had escaped Konoha through a secret passage at the first opportunity, the pursuit team formed by Uchiha and Anbu ninjas subsequently gave him considerable trouble.
It wasn't that these individuals were too strong for Hiruzen Sarutobi to handle.
Rather, the captain of this pursuit team was led by his eldest son, Shinnosuke Sarutobi.
As the Hokage's eldest son, an Anbu detachment captain, and an elite Jonin of the Sarutobi Clan, Shinnosuke Sarutobi was furious upon learning that his father had been assassinated by Danzo and was seriously injured.
To avenge his father, Shinnosuke Sarutobi proactively requested his father to lead a team to hunt down Danzo.
Under Shinnosuke's firm stance, this request was approved by his "father," the "Third Hokage," Danzo.
Facing pursuit from his own son, Hiruzen Sarutobi had no way to express his bitterness.
More critically, in his rage, Shinnosuke Sarutobi gave Hiruzen Sarutobi no opportunity to speak.
Beneath a large tree, Hiruzen Sarutobi, having just escaped pursuit, leaned against it to rest.
Hiruzen Sarutobi's hatred for Danzo grew with each passing moment, filled with grief and indignation.
Danzo, that scoundrel, was utterly malicious, orchestrating such a tragic human drama of father against son.
Thinking of this, Hiruzen Sarutobi's killing intent towards Danzo surged uncontrollably from the depths of his heart.
A faint sound reached Hiruzen Sarutobi's ears from afar. He instantly became alert, and several shuriken flew through the air, aimed directly at his vital points.
Hiruzen Sarutobi dodged with a Shunshin, leaping onto the tree and moving forward, unwilling to engage with the village's ninjas.
