Rin took advantage of being a spirit and circled Obito like a curious little hamster, carefully examining every detail of him.

Under Rin's scrutinizing gaze, Obito felt as if countless ants were crawling all over him.

He desperately tried to control himself, doing everything he could to keep his gaze from shifting away from Kakashi.

In that moment, every second felt like a year to Obito.

Rin's appearance filled him with joy, made him nervous, threw him into a panic, and left him at a loss.

As time passed, Rin finished examining Obito from head to toe, then moved to a spot diagonally in front of him and floated into the air.

Before leaving, Rin took one last look at Obito. For some reason, she felt that the mysterious man before her seemed both unfamiliar and strangely familiar.

Obito's gaze, hidden beneath his mask, stayed on Kakashi until Rin had flown away.

Watching Rin's back as she floated through the air, Obito seemed to see an angel bathed in holy light. His eyes brimmed with longing and yearning.

Rin, I miss you so much!

"Kakashi!" Rin landed in front of him, her joyful voice ringing in Kakashi's mind.

"Rin, did you find anything?" Kakashi asked with concern.

Rin nodded vigorously. "That person was wearing a Spiral Mask. The only eye he showed was a Sharingan."

"A Sharingan?" Kakashi's heart tightened.

"And, I don't know why, but there was something familiar about him. It was as if... as if I'd seen him before." Rin sounded uncertain.

"A familiar feeling?" Kakashi lowered his head and fell into thought.

Sakumo, who had been listening to their conversation, spoke at just the right moment. "Since the founding of Konoha, only one member of the Uchiha Clan has ever defected from the village."

"Madara Uchiha."
