While Uchiha Madara and Goku were fighting in the semifinals of the World Martial Arts Tournament, Vegeta set out once again. This time, his target was the Black Dragon Dragon Ball.
Piccolo still accompanied Vegeta to the planet corresponding to the Black Dragon Dragon Ball. Based on the arrangement of the Northern Dipper's seven stars, this planet was located near the position opposite Dubhe Star.
However, when the two arrived on the planet, they discovered... it was pitch-black, as though no humans existed there at all!
Not just humans—even signs of life were absent! Could a lifeless planet like this truly contain something like a Dragon Ball?
The planet was so dark that they could not even make out their surroundings. Vegeta had no choice but to transform directly into a Super Saiyan, using the light emitted from his own body to illuminate the planet. Only then could they barely make out what it looked like.
The planet was covered in countless craters. These cratered mountains had clearly formed from repeated meteor impacts. A bombardment of meteors like that would have been enough to destroy a planet. Perhaps that was why this planet showed no signs of life.
Vegeta and Piccolo even found it difficult to breathe on this planet. Clearly, the atmosphere here was relatively thin. Though the oxygen content in the air was not low, there simply was not much air to begin with. To avoid dying here, Vegeta and Piccolo both used breath-holding techniques to reduce their bodily consumption, allowing them to last a while longer on the planet.
They sensed no sign of enemies, but... the Dragon Ball Scouter showed no sign of a Dragon Ball either.
