Along the way, Uchiha Madara saw many plants he had never encountered before. The small island had plenty of little animals, but no large species.
Though the island was not very big, it would still take a long time to cross on foot. Since Uchiha Madara was in no hurry, he simply walked forward one step at a time.
As he walked, he heard chattering. Looking ahead, Uchiha Madara saw a completely black monkey blocking his path.
"Is this your territory?" Uchiha Madara asked the monkey.
The monkey did not answer. Uchiha Madara went around it and continued forward at an unhurried pace.
As he ventured deeper, the chattering around him grew louder. From time to time, black monkeys swung past him through the trees at his side, their numbers steadily increasing.
The black monkeys' chatter grew louder and louder. Uchiha Madara knew that he had entered their territory.
Though Uchiha Madara had no intention of making enemies of the monkeys, the chattering creatures clearly did not feel the same way. Their calls gradually changed into warning shrieks.
Then two more monkeys blocked Uchiha Madara's path.
Uchiha Madara stopped and said to the black monkeys, "If you have any intelligence, move aside."
The monkeys refused to yield. The two bared their fangs at the human before them, showing no intention of getting out of the way.
Their expressions even made it clear that if Uchiha Madara took another step forward, they would attack him.
"What are you trying to protect?" Uchiha Madara asked the monkeys. "What's behind you? That building?"
As he spoke, Uchiha Madara used Flash Step, appearing some distance behind the two pitch-black monkeys.
Seeing the human suddenly vanish from before their eyes, the monkeys began chattering among themselves, seemingly discussing something.
