After the two climbed onto the griffons, they hurried onward again. It was even colder in the sky than on the ground. Even Uchiha Madara, who had barely been able to endure it before, felt that the temperature was becoming too much to bear.
Belaque huddled behind the griffon, clutching it tightly.
"If this keeps up for an entire day," Uchiha Madara said to Belaque, "and we haven't eaten anything, we really might not be able to hold on."
"You should worry about yourself," Belaque said to Uchiha Madara. "Stop worrying about me. I think you're the one who won't be able to endure it. Someone from another world like you can't possibly understand the temperatures of our world."
"I've endured cold before," Uchiha Madara said with a smile. "I may not be as old as you, but I haven't necessarily experienced much less than you have."
The two chatted as they headed toward Frost Autumn City.

Uchiha Madara looked at the weather. There were indeed signs that the sun was about to set. The sky was now so cold that he could barely speak. Looking down at the forest below, he saw that it was barren, without the slightest trace of green.
"I'm starting to suspect Kaguolet did this on purpose," Uchiha Madara said. "We could clearly have bought thicker clothes in Red Rock City, but he said there was no need. He obviously wanted to freeze us to death."
"While that is possible, Kaguolet has no reason to do that. Besides, as the Chief Paladin, Kaguolet's character is beyond question. It can only mean that the two of us really aren't as physically fit as young people
