"You're wrong about that. You should be able to see the spirit of the craftsmen of old in this Winterfort. It's an intangible treasure left for future generations, not something that can be measured by the price in your eyes," Uchiha Madara said to Belaque with a smile.
Uchiha Madara and Belaque rode their ice tigers to the entrance of Winterfort.
Winterfort's gates stood wide open, which Uchiha Madara found rather strange. Such a large place had no guards at all.
"Let's go in," Belaque said to Uchiha Madara with a smile. "Go in, eat meat, drink wine, and sleep well!"
"Wait a moment." Uchiha Madara thought for a moment before saying, "Don't you think this Winterfort is a little strange? There isn't a single guard in such a huge place. Is that normal?"
"What's abnormal about it?" Belaque asked.
"There aren't many people here to begin with, and no one really comes here. Wouldn't posting two guards here just be a waste of national funds?" Belaque said.
"That isn't a waste. For a city, guards are the most essential thing. Even the smallest places have them, let alone a Winterfort this large," Uchiha Madara said.
"Winterfort may not have many residents, but it's still famous throughout your Ezerlan Continent, isn't it? It shouldn't be unguarded," Uchiha Madara said.
Belaque looked at Winterfort before them, its gray gates standing open. It resembled a gigantic monster in the cold wind, its maw open as it waited for Uchiha Madara and Belaque to enter.
"What do we do now?" Belaque asked.
Uchiha Madara considered it and said, "Personally, I think the best option is not to enter through the main gate. If something bad is going on inside Winterfort, walking straight in through the front gate would be rather foolish."
