Uchiha Madara took another step back, widening the distance between them.
"Do you know how much of my own energy I'm using against you right now?" Shanmen Shikao asked Uchiha Madara.
"I don't, actually." Uchiha Madara smiled. "But no matter how much of your strength you're using, it's fine as long as you don't get close."
"The battle between the two of us is really rather dull," Shanmen Shikao said.
"If you could fight like me, with real blades and real force, clashing head-on, how exhilarating would that be?" Shanmen Shikao said to Uchiha Madara. "Unfortunately, compared to close combat, you're better at long-range attacks."
"But that doesn't matter." Shanmen Shikao smiled. "I'm already surprised enough that things have turned out this way."
"Are you planning to leave now?" Uchiha Madara asked.
"A battle between the two of us doesn't seem like it can be settled unless one of us dies," Uchiha Madara said to Shanmen Shikao.
"So I think you should go back. You've already lived for several thousand years; it can't have been easy to live this long," Uchiha Madara said.
"You know that I've lived for several thousand years, yet in my eyes, you are no more than a child," Shanmen Shikao said.
"I am a demon from another world. How could I possibly lose to a child like you?" Shanmen Shikao said with a smile.
"What a waste of time and energy," Uchiha Madara said helplessly.
Uchiha Madara's red eyes stared at Shanmen Shikao. Shanmen Shikao felt that the pattern in Uchiha Madara's eyes seemed to have changed somewhat.
Shanmen Shikao did not know what that change meant, but he understood that Uchiha Madara had already begun attacking him in secret without him noticing.
