"I'm only trying to lose weight," the city lord said to Uchiha Madara. "Eating more vegetables is very healthy."
"But this is a little too vegetarian, isn't it?" Uchiha Madara looked at the table, which was covered entirely with leafy greens.
"What are you two waiting for? Since you're already here, hurry up and sit down," the city lord said.
Uchiha Madara was speechless at the city lord's current demeanor and attitude. This was the first time he had ever received such treatment.
"There's nothing good to eat," Uchiha Madara said helplessly to Ci Enyiwu. "Is there anything you want to eat?"
Ci Enyiwu shook her head and said with a smile, "I'm not very particular about food, so anything is fine. As long as it's edible."
"Just as expected of the girl I've set my sights on," the city lord blurted out.
"Can we eat it?" Uchiha Madara looked at Ci Enyiwu and asked quietly.
Uchiha Madara wondered whether this food might be poisoned.
The city lord had prepared nothing but these vegetarian dishes, and he clearly looked impatient.
Uchiha Madara thought there was probably poison in them. Once he and Ci Enyiwu were poisoned, the city lord could make his move.
Thinking about it made Uchiha Madara want to laugh.
This whole mess had been caused by Ci Enyiwu and had nothing to do with him. That way, Ci Enyiwu could no longer blame him for causing trouble everywhere.
"We're already in this situation, so can you stop gloating?" Ci Enyiwu said speechlessly to Uchiha Madara. "I've noticed that your personality is naturally mature and steady, but sometimes your thoughts are like those of a child."
"We're already at such a critical juncture, yet you're still secretly feeling pleased with yourself and gloating," Ci Enyiwu said.
"No, no."
