After Hundred-Eyed Demon Lord was driven away by Great Roc in the Heavenly Court, he went to find the Jade Emperor and tearfully complained to him.
"Your Majesty! I was having such a pleasant conversation with the Fourth Princess, and I was so close to succeeding, when Great Roc suddenly appeared, berated me, and drove me away. I truly had no choice!" Hundred-Eyed Demon Lord knelt on the ground and wept bitterly.
The Jade Emperor frowned as well. Great Roc had actually become this insolent.
"Enough. I will deal with Great Roc. You should make your preparations," the Jade Emperor said.
The Jade Emperor left his residence and went outside, where he deliberately allowed Great Roc to bump into him.
"Your Majesty, I sincerely apologize. I did not see you just now. Please forgive me," Great Roc hurriedly said.
Yet the Jade Emperor appeared exceedingly furious. "Great Roc, you have quite some nerve! It would have been one thing if you merely idled about in the Heavenly Court every day, but you dare behave so rudely as well. If I do not punish you today, it seems you will never understand the majesty of my Heavenly Court!"
"Since you have nothing to do in the Heavenly Court, I now order you to descend to the mortal realm and eliminate demons. If you fail to accomplish anything below, then do not blame me for showing no mercy when you return!"
After saying this, the Jade Emperor gave Great Roc no chance to defend himself. With a sweep of his sleeve, he departed.
Great Roc stood there in a daze. What was wrong with the Jade Emperor? Was he on fire? Why was his temper so explosive?
Still, he was delighted. Being sent down to eliminate demons was perfect—he could go find
