Tathagata looked at the silent Maitreya Buddha and smiled faintly. "Why must Venerable Maitreya be so concerned? The two of us will never become enemies."
Maitreya Buddha said, "Venerable, my silence was not because I was thinking about that. I was merely wondering whether Uchiha Shin being killed would truly be a good thing or a bad thing."
"Why do you say that?"
Maitreya Buddha said, "We all know Uchiha Shin's personal abilities. Moreover, I feel that Uchiha Shin is different from ordinary cultivators. There is a certain spirit about him that makes people feel comfortable, yet also makes him seem distinct. If Uchiha Shin continued developing like this, then should he encounter an opportunity in the future and become very powerful—if he gained control of the Three Realms—I believe his influence on the Three Realms would be immense, and he would make them much better."
Tathagata said, "You are right. If Uchiha Shin were allowed to develop, it would indeed benefit the Three Realms, and it would benefit the majority of its people. However, most of those who benefited would be ordinary living beings of the Three Realms, not gods and Buddhas."
Maitreya Buddha frowned. "Venerable, what do you mean?"
Tathagata said, "The interest group represented by the Mystic Spirit King is the ordinary beings of the Three Realms. If he were to control the Three Realms in the future, he would certainly work for the interests of those ordinary beings and grant them greater and greater benefits.
As for the immortals, Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and other highly skilled individuals in the Three Realms, they would surely be sidelined by the Mystic Spirit King. He would sacrifice their interests in order to safeguard the interests of the vast majority of beings in the Three Realms. Do you understand?"
