The fat monk chuckled.
"Mystic Spirit King, I didn't mean to deceive you. We're on opposing sides now, so I had no choice. That move just now was the one I was most confident in. Since I can't beat you, I'll be taking my leave," the monk said to Uchiha Shin.
"Since you deceived me, you ought to leave something behind, shouldn't you?" Uchiha Shin said coldly. He was not someone who could be toyed with so easily.
The fat monk stopped and looked at Uchiha Shin. Then, gripping his sharp dagger, he viciously stabbed himself in the left arm.
"Mystic Spirit King, is this enough?" the fat monk asked with a smile.
"Go on, then. Don't show up again."
The fat monk nodded, then left with a grin, carrying his dog meat and wine jug. He did not seem the least bit pained by his injury.
Uchiha Shin continued onward in the other direction and encountered quite a few more people, defeating them one by one.
He was doing this because he wanted to drive away everyone around Cloud Dream Marsh. Since they had come to assassinate him, he would show them just how formidable he was.
If Uchiha Shin had merely hidden in his carriage the whole time, it would have been truly humiliating—and it was not in his nature.
Over the course of a single day, Uchiha Shin drove away dozens of assassins.
He was in no hurry. He returned to Cloud Dream Marsh to rest for the night, then continued fighting the next day.
Everyone in Cloud Dream Marsh knew what Uchiha Shin was doing, and no one was particularly worried. The Holy Demon Clan's chief clan head had dispatched experts to stay near Uchiha Shin. If he encountered danger, they could rush in immediately.
