Tathagata Buddha himself did not believe any of this. The appearance of the demon clan brought Taishang Laojun no great benefit; instead, it had adverse effects.
As for Taishang Laojun wanting to attain the Dao through demons, that was completely impossible. Given that Taishang Laojun possessed innate power, why would he need to attain the Dao through such demonic, unorthodox means?
"Venerable One, when we previously helped the demon clan emerge, Taishang Laojun showed no reaction at all and simply let us do as we pleased. Looking back on it now, it truly is suspicious," Maitreya Buddha added.
Tathagata Buddha nodded.
"Taishang Laojun helped Goku and Yang Jian become innate baleful gods and defeat the demon clan. But did he cultivate those two innate baleful gods merely to defeat the demon clan? Once those two baleful gods emerged, they would also pose a threat to Taishang Laojun."
Maitreya Buddha continued.
Tathagata Buddha felt that this made sense, but he still did not understand what Taishang Laojun was trying to accomplish.
"Have you sent people to investigate?" Tathagata Buddha asked.
"We have, but there have been no clues whatsoever. We simply have no idea what Taishang Laojun intends to do this time," Maitreya Buddha said.
Tathagata Buddha's expression grew unsettled. Taishang Laojun's secrecy truly made them uneasy. It would have been fine if they knew what Taishang Laojun was doing, but knowing nothing at all only made them more anxious.
Rumble...
As Tathagata Buddha and Maitreya Buddha sat there talking, a tremendous sound suddenly came from the sky.
Then lightning began flashing across the heavens. It was not white lightning, but red.
Upon seeing the red lightning, both Tathagata Buddha and Maitreya Buddha rose to their feet, shock in their eyes.
"Th-this... is the Deva Path changing?" Maitreya Buddha said blankly.
