"Senior, what are you doing?" Orochimaru cried out in shock as he glanced at the fallen Jiraiya.
Tsunade also wore a puzzled expression. Of course, she was not worried that Xuan would suddenly attack them. If that had been his intention, he had already had countless opportunities before this. He could simply have stayed hidden and let them die at Hanzo's hands—why go to all this trouble?
Xuan gave a soft laugh. "Don't mind it. It was merely a suggestion from a minor genjutsu. He won't forget what happened today, but he'll forget who saved him. He'll only remember a mysterious Black-Robed Man, and he won't be able to tell anyone about it. Other than that, there won't be any adverse effects."
As Xuan explained, Orochimaru and Tsunade both breathed a sigh of relief. They still cared for Jiraiya as a companion.
"Also, regarding what happened today, I trust you won't casually leak it, correct?" Xuan continued with a smile, not placing either of them under genjutsu.
Yet his words carried a strange rhythm, mysterious and unfathomable.
Orochimaru answered without hesitation, "Of course. If you do not wish for it to be revealed, Senior, I will not mention a single word of it to anyone."
Tsunade's expression was somewhat complicated. After hesitating, she lowered her voice and said, "If Uncle Lu Xuan doesn't want others to know that you're still alive, I'll keep my mouth shut as well."
Even after learning Xuan's true identity, she had not changed the way she addressed him, still calling him as she had in the past.
"Very good. Then the contract is established." Xuan smiled. At some point, a scroll had appeared in his hand, covered in tadpole-like script resembling sealing formulas. At the bottom of the scroll, Orochimaru and Tsunade's names silently emerged.
